Ok, I made my stupid comment, now let me say that I fully agree with the recommendation from Iman. I picked up a decent Catt 3 or 4 years ago with some paint on the bone scales. A little oil, and a wooden toothpick and into the display case it went.

Some of the other new pick-ups for my "Bone Yard" .... Two Remingtons in addition to the Voos. The whittler has a quite a bit of pitting on the main blade but the blades are tight, no wobble and the bones are w/o cracks .... good enough for EDC...

Iman is right, a sharpened wooden stick, I use a chopstick, and lighter fluid is what I use to clean paint from handles..

GSPTD, great looking bones. What a sweet old whittler too. Nice group.

Thanks for the mention and agreement toomanyknives. It's tried and true, learned that from the craftsmen, artists, and mechanics right here on AAPK and the sages with more seniority and experience than I.

I have a little tiny bit of knowledge (all) about pocket knives these days, but before I joined the forum it feels like I knew nothing .... A big thanks to everyone here sharing a treasure trove of good information
