Thanks for the comments, gentlemen! I like the color too, Garry, they have a unique look to them. If I remember correctly EVWR has only a little over 100 miles of track, so not many people see them. I was glad to get a few pics.

A couple of recent sightings.......first 2 are of a UP coal train; followed by 3 of a lengthy double stacker, with UP and KCS locos up front, and not pictured were 2 UP DPU's.

A few more, caught a BNSF, in old school paint scheme, heading up an empty coal train along with a UP. Waited around for the rear loco, but there was none.

Ike, although unlikely, if you ever come across a Rock Island train I would be ecstatic to see a photo. I think it may still run as a commuter line from west of Chicago to downtown.

I did see a couple of Rock Island locos about a year ago......in a museum. The old Rock Island commuter line may still be referred to as the Rock Island line. However, it is my understanding that Metra trains service all the far reaching commuter lines throughout the Chicago area.
Below is a Metra loco painted in Rock Island colors as a tribute to the former "Mighty Good Road". I also posted a few other Rock Island pics from some that I had downloaded some time back. I think you are relegated to looking at vintage pics like this if you want to see Rock Island trains.

Thank you for down loading the RI photos. The first engines I saw on the commuter line were steam engines. Probably around '46 or '47 when I became conscious of them. So I don't associate colors with them. As they were switching to diesel they briefly used a very modern looking sort of streamlined engine with a circular protruding "nose" as I recall it. But that disappeared and the standard looking diesel appeared; this was the blocky kind of engine not the Santa Fe style cab if you know what I mean.

Stopped by the yard at Dupo, Il. for a little railfanning. Check out this 5 loco lineup on a long mixed freight.......3 Norfolk Southern, 1 CSX, and 1 Kansas City Southern.
Last pic is a UP coal train stopped for a crew change.

You guys really know your trains...I'm impressed. I am not a train enthusiast, but I was fascinated by this video my friend sent me showing two side-by-side films of a rider's view from Germany's "Flying Train" (which we might call a tram?) while passing over a German village; one from 1902 and the other from 2015. I wonder if TPK Tom has ever seen or ridden on this?

Very cool vid, Q. I love the split screen 1902-2015 comparison. I don't think the old train passes another like the new one did. I'm curious as to how much different it looked in 1902.
*Edit- it does pass another @ 0:32 and @ 3:08. The 2015 passes one @ 2:20 and the very end.

A couple vids of the propane steam engine at Busch Gardens from this past Thursday.
I was told the have 3- blue, red and green. All built by Crown in Pennsylvania in the 1970's.

Is that HO scale by any chance? I really don't know anything about model trains, but when I was a kid, my brother got an HO scale train set for Christmas one year and we spent countless hours setting up tracks and making little villages from whatever scrap materials we could salvage from my father's workshop. There was even a little eyedropper bottle with liquid that we put into the smokestack of the engine so it would puff out smoke. What great fun we had. Your video brings back a lot of really great memories. Thanks for sharing, John.

Thanks, Q. It's O Gauge, Lionel, but the trolley and GG-1 are Rail King/MTH. I'm only using O-27 track due to limited space (that my wife has allowed), which is the tightest curve. It somewhat limits the engines I can run, but the bigger engines also cost a boat load more.
I always ran trains as a kid to 3 generations of railroaders. Wouldn't mind landing a railroad gig when I decide to retire from the City.
