Quite so Dimitri: The left side one looks like it was made from an early Mauser bayonet;the center an old LF&C bowie hunter minus the guard;the right side one is like nothing I've seen before. Are the scales ivory or bone?
EDIT: Almost forgot;the center sheath looks like one for a John Ek model 1 or 6

To my eye, the one on the right looks somewhat like a Marbles Outers but I'm probably wrong.

I have one that appears to be identical to the one on the right and it is a marked pre-war Boulder Western States.

Is that a 50 cal. shell on the handle of the left knife?
Center knife looks like a LF&C. Nice original looking sheath. What is the handle material?

Ray, the first one is indeed made from a bayonet but I have no idea if it was a Mauser. The center knife is from L.F. &C. It has the typical black composite handles. The handle scales on the knife on the right side are celluloid.

Wayne it is a brass .50 cal. shell, not put on very well, it was soldered on and done rough.

Why would you need to ever join another knife forum?

"Why would you need to ever join another knife forum?"
So i could be "Clueless".
It's a good name. No one would have any expectations of me and thus would never be upset by the bumph i post, their attitude being "Well, he's just clueless".
Sort of like a politician with the last name of "Nobody" whose campaign slogans are: "Nobody Cares" and "Nobody Will Help You".

These posts on the early Western knife, made me pull out my reproduction Marbles Outers knife to photograph... I think I read that back during the great depression, the Outers knife saved Marbles from going bankrupt.

Dave, very nice looking Bowie - when you get some photos of it at different angles please post. Love the looks of a Bowie.
I finally got around to getting more photos of this Laredo Bowie. Not a small feat photographing this monumental sized knife!

I used two different lenses, a 55 Micro and a 24mm wide angle. I tried to capture some of the grind features, like the top clip. You can also clearly see the blade grind shows the exposed layered steel line along the length of the blade. Also, I tried to show the blade thickness at 0.3125", which really has to be seen in-hand to appreciate just how thick this is. The clip is sharpened from the factory.
The Cold Steel Laredo - VG-1 San Mai III steel, black linen Micarta handle, 15-5/8" OAL, 10-1/2" blade length, 16.3 ozs weight, comes with a black leather sheath with a big frog.

I keep it in the top drawer of the safe, right in view when the door opens.
I can do my happy dance more often that way
