The Postman dropped off this one today. A Queen #23 Barlow. Circa 1945-55. Sawcut Bone handles.

These two beauties, a 285UH and 885UH, showed up today. Scored them pretty cheap off of feebay. Think these are going to be 80's era production. They are pretty much mint condition.

Went shopping today for the first time in awhile after promising myself that I would refrain from buying any more knives.
Anyway I found these three gems in a bag for a total of $21.72.All have been sharpened more or less but not abused,
First was a KA-BAR(slant letters)1071 3 blade mini-stockman with what looks like synthetic handles.
Second is a Case 10 dot 6233 serpentine pen.
Last is my favorite:a Browning USA stockman with what looks like rosewood handles. Think this one will be my carry knife for awhile.

That is a beautiful Barlow, QS! Is it one of the Queen builds? Looks a little like the #69, just with fewer handle pins.

Love those old bone "offset-bolster" Queen Barlows. That one you have is sort of my "grail" in that line. I have none of the 23s (no spear blades) and only one bone, an old washed-out Winterbottom Barlow with clip blade. I will continue to hunt until I find one of those, and maybe one of the Drake Well knives from 1974 (but not for $300! ).

I have really grown to enjoy the little 33 pattern recently. Is yours bone? I love the way it looks. I'm a little sad for the state of the blades but it looks like there's enough of them for some proper service. Can't beat the edge you can get on that old carbon steel.

There's a 23 at auction on ebay right now. Search Queen Barlow.

Thank you. My collection of Queen Barlows ( if you can call it a collection ) only numbers three. Barlows are tough to collect 'cause everybody loves them. Too many collectors and few quality Barlows equals high prices.
What I really like are the Queen number 10 jacks.

I'm not quite sure on the exact cutoff but IIRC any Cripple Creek knives from the last ~10 years or so are Queen-built. Your frame and spear blade look like kin to my few examples of the #69 pattern.

Thanks Tsar, I think it is then most likely a Queen product though I have no informationon this specific knife. Especially lacking a box or protective paper I think the mint condition strongly suggests a more recent production.

Great lookin' Trappers but I have a question:
One the 2nd Trapper, the darker stag, what about the location of the shield? I don't remember seeing one set that close to the center of the knife before? Is it because of the contour of the stag/bone?

Edit: Just got to checkin' the internet and it appears the 5154 has the shields in the position I was questioning. One more thing I learned on AAPK, now if I can just remember it .

I like that single blade trapper. It's an NKCA knife. Check out the pile side tang stamp. There's a year stamped but hard to make out from the pic.

I picked this one up a few days ago, a Camilus C-4 .30-06.

It has a few flaws but most can be buffed I hope. Most likely never been used but has been in an antiques shop for years.

Sako......I always said that if I had to keep only one knife it would be my Camillus C-4. Nice pick-up.
