Those are truly a great tool for the knife collectors. I love mine.

Very nice

I've got the same one with two blades, it's a great pattern.

Love the pattern, this is my third. I never get three of the same knife, maybe two if I really like it, but it's rare. This feels so good because it fits my hand and to me appealing lines and great aesthetics. The other two recent nabs, faves from the get go.

Is the lower knife ivory or smooth oiled bone ? Both are nicer than the picture shows. I know this because i have GEC with the orange bone handles and they all are most attractive. Great pattern, great handles, great score !

Thanks guys. KJ, it's Smooth Ivory bone, don't know what makes it different from smooth oiled bone, just going with the tube label. The other is Autumn Gold bone.
Thanks Quick S, they are good looking and excellent build, fit and finish.

Ivoryman: My apologies. I accidently hit the wrong emoticon. Instead of two thumbs up, i.e.

, I gave one up and one down. Talk about a mixed message!

Split personality ?
Ivoryman those are great looking knives. Do you know if there's a version that also has a pen blade ? I'd love one of those.

I am so ridiculously behind on photographing my new knives that I figure I'm going to need to hit the ones I can as I have a chance. I'll circle back by the weekend and snap some of the more worthy additions, but I've been excited about these two. My first Yello-Jaket (long overdue, seeing as how it's my "school knife"

) AND my first #72 -- in the same knife! Jerry, I can see the draw to this pattern. Also, my second Fight'n Rooster, a pillbuster in some really beautiful stag.

Carefull, Tony. They're addicting.
That Yello-Jacket is one I don't have. Oh, I have Yello-Jackets but they all have something that sets them apart from the regular, everyday, plain Jane Yello-Jacket like yours.
One is a PJ (plain Jane) except for the main blade. It's etched Yello-Jacket on the mark side but the back tang is stamped "22LR6" (from the Rimfire series) instead of "72".
One is a Chattanooga TN Worlds First Coca Cola Bottler limited edition.
One is a Yello-Jaket with brown & yellow worm groove handles and the bubble shield.
One is unfinished. Blade pins are squeezed but not sanded off and polished.
And one is a McGrews "Chip Chat" wood carvers club knife.
For some reason the smooth yellow handles bring more money than the brown jigged Delrin and most all seem to be in better condition. Maybe 2017 will be the year my finger twitches and I will bring home a PJ Yello-Jaket in factory condition.

Philco, yes they have 85s with a pen secondary and in the same color. Just not easy to find and when you do in my experience they go for nearly 2 hundred. Good luck though, you won't regret one of these.

Today I got a nice early schrade walden 885uh, the early ones had "milled" nickel silver liners. The "milling" appears to just be a light stamping but it still looks nice and I prefer NS liners to brass any day, hard to pick it up on a camera phone though. There's a slight haze along the edges, probably from buffing the edge at the factory but I will even it out with a scotch brite pad. Each blade is stamped stainless and it looks very nice

I would leave that buffed edge alone. I got a Walden 885 just like yours a couple of weeks ago and it has that buffed edge. IMO, that adds to the authenticity.
What serial# is it? That can kinda tell ya the year it was made.

Nice group of knives Scott. I like the location of the nail nick on that old sabre.

That's one of the things I really like about the big granddaddy Sabres...
Of course, some of the other Japanese cutlers did them one better and cut REALLY long long-pulls into their blades, which I like even more:
(2 Sabres on the right, two Valors and (I think) a G.C. Co. to the left.)

These showed up today. Light is really bad for photography right now.... I'll get some better shots when the light returns.
The notable ones are:
Case XX Copperhead 6249
Case 10 Dot 5347
Roberson Shuredge Trapper 622382 in Strawberry
The other two are a '94 CCC 5355 Wharncliffe Whittler and a recent Jumbo Stock 6375 CV.
