Thanks, Colonel. Your approval is much appreciated.

Still looking for another 72 short-line, a user in great condition. And if it's a 1st G even better. I have a few knives for trade posted here

I think that's about the best 1st Gen I've ever seen. It's been fluffed and buffed of course but really it's just gorgeous.

Flex the guy is wrong the knife has never been fluffed and buffed. It was cleaned when I got it from storage with oil and a soft rag. Storage from 1946 until now requires oil every so often. But Flex we don't care it is gorgeous and that is all that matters. Enjoy my friend.

A carbon steel knife coming out of a 1946 factory that shiny, never getting used and maintaining it's shine for 71 years? My, my, my, will wonders never cease. I sure wish I had aged that well.

Thanks, Jerry. I took 3 or 4 pictures. The first two were the ones that looked best to me. I'll post another where you
might see fine scratches, but still, Harold did his part in keeping this 72 as close to prefect as any I've seen.

Harold
Thanks, Msteele. Good to see you again!
Greg, right on about Harold, and thanks!
Harold - thanks again, buddy. And don't worry about Jerry's comments. I believe you. I have the knife in hand and can see it better than in the photos. You probably know this better than I do but Jerry's a cool guy and Mr. #72 (in my book) so, I expect his comments to be meticulous, especially with regards to any 72. But mostly his comments crack me up.

Jerry, I did not mean to disrespectful to you. All I can say about Felixs #72,is I purchased from a old man in Benton Ks.
It was in his hardware store when he closed it. He move it to his home and I purchased it in the 1990's. It was oiled by
me and I never buffed the knife. It laid in my pile until it went to live with Felix. I do check my knives every so often.
I hope I haven't caused a problem on the Forum.

jerryd6818 wrote:Felix, as the owner of that knife, can be nothing short of proud, proud, proud. That knife deserves to be the centerpiece of a large and complete collection of Camillus 72s and clones, so get at it Felix. You have a lot of hard work ahead of you.
....I told y'all I was not worthy, and I'm not, but the knife Gods chose me for some strange and unexpected reason. It's beyond my comprehension.
All I wanted when I landed at right place and time was a Camillus #72, 1st generation
user in great to excellent condition, and I ended up with what is apparently the holy grail of 72s based on you guys (and myself too).

I hope another one, a NIB or more come along soon cuz this is way too much pressure.
Thanks, Carrmillus!

Do you have photos posted somewhere on this thread of those 1st Gs? If so, what page? I'm still looking for the right one - a user. Not that you'll let any go. Just curious and always happy to see some photos of them.
PS - Thanks for all of you all's feedback!

Them things are as scarce as hen's teeth. Even at that, $379.95 is just a mite on the high side.
