TPK wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 10:12 am Hi John, David, Ike and others posting here,

Question: I thought about going through all the pages here, downloading the pictures with the best contrasting colors & finest details, and then having them printed out in a "collage" for on my wall at home. Are there any objections to that or anyone have something against me useing their pictures? ::shrug:: Please let me know. ::tu::

Thanks for the Feedback! ::handshake:: Appreciate it! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

No issues here, Tom. Some of the pictures I have posted were found elsewhere on the web, for educational purposes. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ πŸš‚

A train ride to Little Valley and Walden NY perhaps! Just as well steam by the Union Stock Yard in Chicago while we're at it. Jack Knife Ben might be out there selling knives!

One of you aficionados should be able to answer this. I have not seen a caboose in decades. Are they still used on a regular basis?

Unfortunately, no, just a rear blinking warning light and the conductor rides in the cab with the engineer.

I imagine Jack Knife Ben was around there someplace selling his reworked pocket knives. ::nod::

Today's lesson - steam engine tender water scoup-

And in the USA, from Thomas Edison in 1905-

I can only imagine seeing these in action, it would be like standing next to a puddle on the highway. Lionel puts these on their model tenders.

Cool vid, David. I've always admired those cab-forward steamers, imagine they would have to be fuel oil powered because how could you get coal into the firebox? ::shrug::
