Greg, do you have the one with "Ducks On The Water" engraved on the main or the plain one.

They are not. I'm in Madison right now. I'll post pictures when I get home.
How about the Scout with white handles?
Just how interested are you in the various variations of 72s & the clones?

Haha! Jerryd I'm not sure I have enough money to answer that question but seriously I am on the hunt for all of the bone handled variations of the 72.

This is all the stuff it came with. I only have the knife.
This is the plain one. Took me awhile to find it.
1047 Scout with white Delrin. 1980-1984
I also can't see any decent collection without a #5 (Thank you Tommy). Wood handles, brass bolsters, made 1999 to appx. 2003 or '4

Jerryd I have seen the one with the ducks on it before but not the plain one. Was the plain one open stock or a special issue. The #5 wood handle is interesting also.

I don't know. Anything I could say would be wild speculation. I could make up a story for you if you want. Spin a yarn about left over parts or something like that but a yarn would be just that, a yarn stacked on top of speculation. I've never run onto anyone who knows anything about the Ducks knife, old Camillus employees nor heavy duty collectors seem to know anything about it. There was/is some speculation the Ducks knife was made for the National Wildlife Foundation but that's about as far as it went. Nothing about the plain one.

Well that's very interesting. I think I am definitely going to have to get one of those plain ones. The ducks one dit wit in Texas had so I won't be going after that one.

There is one of the white BSA on the bay now but not as pristine as yours. I hadn't even thought to check the AAPK stores
Edit: None there. Give me some ideas.

Going from left to right, is #2 a 1st Gen? #2 & #4, the bone is just gorgeous. I see you got that McGrew. Looks like it's in excellent codition. I'm glad to see that Schrade 863 snuggling in there.

Jerry that one throws everybody. Its one that I put stag scales on. It was a scout knife that the scales had shrunk off of.

Hey Jerry I gotta question. Do you know if the Schrades are Swinden key construction?

Grant, so good to "see" you. Looks like all it takes is a few 72s to bring you out into the sunshine. I hope life is getting at least a little bit better for you.

Thanks for the answer Grant. I have one with Delrin handles that has a tipped master blade. I was going to switch it out, but I think I will re-profile it instead. I have never worked with Swinden key knives. I think it will wait until I can be better motivated.
