It's been a loooong time since school but if I'm not mistaken, "collectors" is the plural version and "collector's" is the possessive version (or maybe it's collectors') Keep in mind I failed Freshman English, 2nd semester.

So we're in the '90s now? I can play in the '90s.

These two were almost twins. Except the '93 has a little more of a reddish tint.

Had I been your teacher, jerryd, you would have not failed Freshman English; your answer is 100% correct. You may go to the head of the class (by which I mean the front of the class, not the "head" in military parlance!)

But, I still can't decide which version is technically grammatically "correct" as I can make an argument for all three versions:
Collectors (plural) - because the Case club is composed of multiple collectors, i.e., The Case club comprises more than one collector.
Collector's (possessive) - because the Case club belongs to the collectors, i.e., The Case club is possessed by a group (singular) of collectors.
Collectors' (plural possessive) - because the Case club is possessed by multiple (plural) collectors.

(As much as I know you'd all just love to continue deconstructing the intricacies of written English grammar, I have to go and try to stop OCD Monkey from having a major mental meltdown over this otherwise insignificant issue. )

I do not. I just lucked out and found that one on eBay a couple years ago. Have never seen another one since.

Funny story: speaking of the shoddy shield work that seems to be endemic to Case knives in the 1980s and 1990s, as I was photographing that 1992 CCC Jr. 6107, believe it or not, the brass bomb shield actually fell out and I had to glue it back in.

I like what I'm seeing here, Smitty...in fact, I just happen to have a pair of pseudo-twins as well, but both of mine are from 1995.

I bought a Case 61549L Copperlock back in 2013 because it had "Marines" etched on the blade and the Eagle, Globe and Anchor shield. When I got it, the shield had fallen out of the handle and was floating around in the tin. I could have glued it back in but it irritated me so much that I sent it back and wouldn't touch a Case knife for quite a while. I expected more from a $90 knife. SMKW took it back and refunded my purchase price.

MTTP: - Missing Dot Years !990-1993½

As mentioned previously, in the early part of the 1990s decade Case, under the leadership of Jim Parker, changed the dot tang stamp dating system to numeric year tang stamping. Mini Trappers manufactured in the years 1990, 1991 and 1992 had the numeric year tang stamp. But, sometime in 1993 Case reverted back to the dot system that collectors had come to love, so some 1993 07s had the numeric year stamp and some had 7 dots. Another feature often found on 1990s era 07s is a letter (or letters) prefix added to the pattern number tang stamp that indicates the color of the handle.

The bone color letter prefix in the pattern number tang stamp actually began showing up before the 1990s. Here's one from 1986; however, on this White Smooth Bone W207, the "W" takes the place of the "6" in the pattern number.

MTTP: - 1995

As any Case collector knows, the pattern number of a particular knife provides several pieces of information about the construction of that knife, specifically, the handle material, number of blades, frame pattern and sometimes the type of blade steel. Pattern numbers beginning with a "6" are by far the most common as that is the number Case uses to designate bone as well as some (but not all) synthetic handle material (Delrin) and laminated wood. Other types of wood handles are designated by the number "7"...except for Walnut, which for some reason gets the number "1" as its own special handle number designation.

From the commemorative blade etch on this 1995 Walnut Wood 1207 it would seem that the Case Mini Trapper pattern has been in production since 1895. Personally, I have never seen a Case Mini Trapper (07) older than the Tested Era (1920-1940); so, if Case did in fact make 07s prior to 1920, I would very much like to see one.

Thats a great looking knife...im a fan of the wood handles. Did they make them with a long spay blade prior to the 80s ?...or late 70s? I haven't seen any, not that I've seen as much as most of y'all out there....just wondering. Would be cool to do a commemorative with the same blade pattern as the original too.

Thank you, mikeb. I'll admit that I wasn't a big fan of wood handles at first, but I have grown to appreciate them. In fact, I am currently waiting on a 1971 6207 with custom wood handles to arrive. Was hoping it would've been here in time to be shown in the correct chronological spot on the timeline...but apparently the seller decided to ship it by cattle barge--it's already been in transit for three weeks and not scheduled to arrive until Nov. 28th.

I believe the spay blade first debuted on the 07 in 1979 and, sadly, Case has continued with that blade configuration ever since--with the occasional Wharncliffe secondary version released sporadically after the 1st Issue 207WHSS debuted in 1990.

I'm assuming we're still in the 90's.

Apparently, Appaloosa was popular in the 1990s.

Curiously, this 1999 Purple Appaloosa Smooth Bone 6207 does not have the letter prefix in the pattern number and has a different shield. Same with this 1998 Green Appaloosa Smooth Bone 6207.
This mottled bone from 1993 like jerryd's is my favorite Appaloosa 6207 (A6207)

This was my first Mini-Trapper. I "cleaned" the handle and the printing was diminished. Other 1997 The end of the 90's for me.

I thought that I only had one 07 but pulled out my box of knives and found this 1992. Theres a receipt in the box...I bought it in December of 2000 at a Ace Hardware for $37.62.

Bought the 6109 just recently to carry..

You should pull out that box-o-knives more often, dude, there may be other long-lost/hidden treasures just waiting to be dug up, re-discovered and appreciated (and possibly even used!). ...and then be sure to post photos of them, cause it's only fair to share...especially with fellow knife junkies.

I would venture to say that the single-blade Wharncliffe 107W is probably my all-time top-favorite Case model.

Just something about the 6107W that really grinds all the right gears in me. I absolutely love this pattern in any/all handle varieties, especially Antique Amber Jigged Bone.
