Mossdancer wrote:Those are really nice jacks, it seems that the overwhelming majority of large knives out here on the left coast are old utility or scout type. I am yet to find any thing with five or more blades. The European horseman's I showed is it period. Perseverance will someday pay, I have hope anyway.Edit: after psting this I paged back to see the Euro knife and noticed the Tipman surgical knife has locking mechanisms on each blade. Explains whys I sometime have opening problems with it. (HA)!

Doglegg I have been known to get sentimental at times when perusing old threads. Especially when they knock my socks off! ::nod::

I bought a pocket knife from a seller. The tracking said it was delivered today. A pocket knife WAS delivered today from that particular seller. It was the wrong pocket knife. I received this SYRACUSE KNIFE CO.,USA, 3 blade stockman, instead of the pocket knife that I bought. According to Goins it is from 1935 to 1940. I contacted the seller and he said that he realized his mistake and that the pocket knife that I bought has been sent. He told me to go ahead and keep this knife as well. So, the only SYRACUSE KNIFE CO. pocket knife that I own, came to me by accident. I cleaned it a little, I took a few pictures and here it is.

This is one of my favorite threads. I’ve read it several times, just finished it again and enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time! People keep adding more stunning old knives to it. Also realized I’ve not added any myself, so here are a few. Posted elsewhere before but not here.

I like them all but that Challenge scout knife really gets me, I always wanted one of those but could never find one! :(

Here is a HOLLEY MFG Co. LAKEVILLE and CHIPAWAY CUTLERY CO. Both in pretty old. The CHIPAWAY has the flat pill crusher end.
