All About Pocket Knives

Found this one today in a hardware store in Dunn NC (just north of Fayetteville). They have several display cases, but won't sell any of the display knifes - when the case is empty they hang the display board up on the wall and order a current display with additional stock. Neat place to look at Case (and Queen) knives from over the years, but frustrating in that some of the neatest are not for sale. Luckily they still had one of these inside the case in the storage area, so I picked it up - made in 2006 (by Camillus I've learned here).

OH....nice find.

I missed class the day we learned Case contracted scout knives to Camillus. What years was this? Great knife OH!

Tank: I learned it here at AAPK fairly recently on either a Case knife thread or one of the Scout knife threads. It had to do with the thickness of the blades. Someone pointed out that a Case Scout with the pattern number 6445R would have been produced by Case and would have thicker steel in the blade, whereas the pattern number 640045R (such as my knife) would have been produced by Camillus and would have the normal blade thickness common to Camillus Scout knives.

There is also a RS3333 with a round BS shield with a long pull on EBay. It looks to me like a blade replacement, but I have been known to be wrong.

My wife found this while going through some boxes in the garage last week; my son received his Eagle Scout Award in 1996 and someone gifted him with this Camillus Eagle Scout knife to mark the occasion. He is 30 now, lives in Atlanta, and has apparently long forgotten this gift - we will surprise him with it when we see him in August.

That would make it about one of the earliest Pal Scouts to be had. ..IMO.

Thanks Guys I figure it was a transition knife. They had to clean up all the Remington pieces and parts. The first RS3333 I had looked just like this knife.

Check this Remington 6 tool scout out. It's called the Bandit made in U.S.A. I haven't seen another one. It's very solid and heavier than it looks. Each blade has great snap. I'd like to get any information I can about it.

Yep...looks identical to my Remmy's.

That Bandit may have been made by Camillus.

I think I may have posted this one before when it had a broken can opener blade. Dimitri sent me a replacement and I just finished installing it. I just had to show the after pics!
It's a pre-1930 Shapleigh Hrdwr. built by Empire. IMHO, bone just don't get no prettier then this!!
Once again, a big thanks to Dimitri for furnishing the replacement blade, it worked out great!!

That old bone is the best. Great knife

Although, this green bone Western, does run an awful close second.
