Here arer two Swedish knives made in Ekilstuna. An old Karlsson and a Knivsblagec I think it says.

Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, as it turned out, it is a keeper. It did get added to my general, "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a HACKMAN, one blade, two handle stamps or maker marks, 4 3/4" closed and 8 3/8" open, "butterfly" pattern or style of pocket knife. The blade itself has no stamp(s) or marking(s) of any kind, anywhere on it. The handles are plastic or some kind of composite material. The handle stamps or maker marks are on each side of the same handle. The handle stamps or maker marks are the same and they both say "STAINLESS (over) SORSAKOSKI" (both are curved or arched and between the rings of two circles). The handle stamps also say " HACKMAN FINLAND" (in a long, rectangular box, coming out of the circles). Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did require some very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Ken, I wish I had bought as many of these and the other models (Odin, etc...) as I could have. Well, after I bought this Tor, the prices have gone through the longhouse roof over the years.... I would have to check but it has more than doubled ....

Skip, I have owned two of these over the years.... and every time I get one, another collector in my local group of "knife Nuts" has ended up with it on a trade .... I need to find a 3rd one ..... and STAY strong !!!

My Enzo field/hiking/camp knife from Finland. This was my first patina experiment. I used white vinegar as the acid and nail polish to block the areas I wanted unblemished. The paw was a cut-out of a tracing of my dog's footprint and then reduced in size on a copy machine. It was then copied onto copy on a paper with a sticky backing, then cutout and stuck to the blade to prevent the vinegar from reacting with the metal. So, after all that, I ended up with a very crisp outline of my dog's paw on the knife blade.

The handle is a para cord wrap soaked in epoxy/resin to harden it and then painted with a spray on enamel paint. It may not look so great, but it makes a very solid handle on the cheap... and good for outdoors use.

I picked this one up in a box of misc recently. It is marked Falcon, stainless steel, Sweden. Did not come with a sheath, probably had one of those hard plastic ones originally. Takes a good edge and would work great for filleting.
