Very nice John. I have a muskrat with the same color handles as yours. They sure used some pretty bone on them knives.

Not sure. I have owned several and none have been etched. I have round bolster, square and square with a Sabre ground blade and none etched. If they are out there I sure would like to have one. This knife had not been touched and no evidence of any etch. Thanks

John I have both the square and round bolsters ones, I have never seen a saber ground blade on a muskrat. That seems strange to me, the blade would be the wrong shape for the intended purpose. To thick.

They didn't etch the muskrat or the barlow.

The main blade is Sabre ground and the back blade is standard. I have seen a few just like mine as well as the listing in Jim Sargent’ s next to last book that had it pictured.

I picked up a few more mint Remingtons over the past few weeks and I will take pictures and post sometime this week. That is not my reason for the response, it just dawned on me how special it is when we are able to find a mint example to add to our collections. Think about it, the oldest is 98 years old and the youngest is 78..... truly amazing that mint examples are still out there. I guess that’s what keeps us looking! Thanks for allowing me to ramble. I feel the same way. Especially specialty knives (knives made for a certain purpose) I have these two budding knives that appear to be unused. It seems to me if you bought these you would use them.

Speaking of specialty knives, I have a mint Maze knife and a Cotton Sampler. The Cotton Sampler is fairly hard to find. I will take pictures later today.

Keith, the cotton sampler is very near mint and the maize knife has not been sharpened.

It appears the maize knife has been used but not put back on a stone.
