Doing some cleaning & general collection maintenance the other day and I noticed these Scagel Fruitports & GEC Vipers looked like a good match.

Great match Q, wow what some Scagel lookers. Not bad Northfield and Tidioute too. Love those through and through nicks. Merry Christmas.

Once I observe a certain pattern, it seems to pop up everywhere I look (probably some type of pattern-related OCD). So, as I continued doing routine knife maintenance, I couldn't help but notice recurring examples of the Stag / White Scale matching pairs in my collection.

These last two Copperlocks are both Glennbad mods (elephant ivory & stag) and two of my all-time favorites. Great work by a consummate professional and true craftsman (as well as a genuinely nice guy!).

Thanks Jerry. The 06267 is one of my favorite patterns, and somewhat scarce from any era. I have a nice XX 06267 in rough black somewhere but it didn't make it into the pictures. As far as I know they all had long pulls until the XX U.S.A. era, when Case changed the clip blade to a slightly "fatter" shape, with a standard nail pull. I prefer the looks of the long pull versions too, but ironically the XX U.S.A. version is probably the hardest to find because it was only made a couple of years before it was discontinued.

Mumblypeg, EXXXXXCELLENNNNNNT. Great group.
Dweb, ditto that. How do you decide which to capitulate over to users? I couldn't do it. Fine looking group for sure for sure, gotta copy on that.

Took so much time and so much more dough than I wanted to use or admit to that I couldn't bring myself to even post these for a while out of sheer sheepish embarrassment. Ate some crow, took some time away, came back later with some fresh perspective and some water under the bridge and Wallah. 85 is one of my favorites for sure for sure. And then some.

Ivoryman, The value of a knife IMO is strictly up to the person that paid for it. I've come to the conclusion that what you are willing to pay for a knife can vary greatly depending on whether it's the first in a collection or the last one you need to complete that collection. Those are some great looking Teardrops anyone would be proud to own. ::tu:: ::tu::

IMO a very profound statement and an insightful look into the mind of the "collector".

I would like to pick out some outstanding pairs, but i am sorry i can't. There are some really outstanding pairs among all these. A lot of them are exquisite and all the rest are sensational. Well done gentleman. Ah i lie, i can't go past dweb1897's Royal Flush. I don't know of anybody that can match that lot, and by the looks of them they are covered in Elk and Stag....Exquisite my friend.
Tony.

Would this be a match set, instead of a match pair?

Use to have the little brother of the clip point, but it came up missing after a break in of my truck. ::disgust::

That is a fantastic set! I can only manage to find an 8OT so far, let alone a matching set.
