Two antique folding hunting knives, both of these are about 5 3/8" closed.

MB's additions just above jarred my memory - I never put this one in this thread and being a big lock back clip blade with knurly stag from Wostenholm I think it belongs here as a Hunter -

That IXL is STUNNING. My heart aches for it. I wish to clutch it to my breast in awe and reverence. I would at least like a .jpg big enough to put it onto my desktop monitor as a screen saver, as, of course, I can never own it.

Thank a lot, dogg. It's really quite a knife. It's thin as the older ones seem to be so that makes it easier to carry.
I can't carry it though ... ... it's over 4 inches long on the cutting edge (4 1/4") and Connecticut wont allow anything 4 inches or longer to be carried by any one who is a honorable stand up tax payer who contributes rightly to the community and obeys the law.
Decent, mature, honorable citizens cannot be trusted to carry what they deem appropriate for themselves. It's quite insulting.

Beauty Joe ... and as for CT:

CT is a beautiful state (at least most of it with much history) BUT as you said the laws and many aspects don't make it desirable for many reasons including taxes etc etc.... State is hurting for money and yet their absurd laws etc have chased many folks and even businesses out of the state.... As to the knife laws - I doubt any troopers carry rulers so just tell them it is 3 and 15/16"

A bunch of Case FH: a 3172;a 5165 with a bail;a 5172;a 6165;and a 61050.
An Imperial coke bottle and a folding fisherman.
A Paris Bead with a short blade.
A Westaco coke bottle.

A couple more:
A Wilbert coke bottle;a KA-BAR 2 blade;a Dogs Head single blade;a Dogs Head knife/fork;a Northfield;a Western 2 blase;and a handmade aluminum handled single blade.

I really like the Northfield lockback.Dogshead locking swing guard ain't bad either.

I think I Will throw this 4 5/8 I*XL in here whilst I'm thinking about it.

The top knife resembles the USN Mark 1 Deck Knife. (KaBar said that the original Mark 1 was patterned after the hunting knives of the 1920's and 1930's).

This figures and is why I bought a modern KaBar USN Mark1 Deck Knife. You can't beat it for real hunting service/work. Their 1095 Cro-Van steel is marvelous and can be brought back to a razor's edge in jig time.

Here's a big old Humason & Beckley ebony hunter.
