Some great knives in here folks , think I'll throw a few into the ring for us too.

This is a 1st edition 1911 Boy Scout, New York Knife Co Hammer Brand, complete with extra goodies.

1911_bsa.JPG

A couple Hammer kamp Kings, I especially like the red and blue.

And this one is interesting, an Imperial USA "Heavy Forge" barlow, but with a Hammer oval logo, guessing it was some kind of transition piece.

Always fun pulling knives off the shelf. (and I never knew how much I like a simple sheet of styrofoam as a background - nice !)

I just got this Kamp King camper/scout type knife in the 2023 POS exchange. I have several Kamp Kings, but this is the first with the Hammer Brand tang stamp. Thanks Kolvir!

Here is a HAMMER BRAND, KAMP-KING, one blade, two tools, three tang stamps, 3 3/8" closed, pocket knife. I seriously doubt that the bail is original to this pocket knife, but it works. Overall, it is in GOOD condition.

Some time ago, this pocket knife arrived in a large group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to join this topic or thread. It also joined my general pocket knife collection. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives just to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It is a HAMMER BRAND, one blade, one tang stamp, 2" closed (not including the bail), pocket knife. The tang stamp says "HAMMER (over) BRAND (with the flexed arm & hammer) and a vertical USA on the side. According to the tang stamp chart, it dates to circa 1945-1955. Overall, it is still in GOOD+ condition. I took some pictures and here it is.

Les, put some RenWax on those boxes and either that or TufGlide on the knives. That’ll stop, or at least slow down those age spots. Use as directed, once or twice a year is all that’s needed. ::tu:: Those are celluloid covers, so keep an eye on them.

Ken, thanks for the tip on Ren Wax I've have to try and find some. Celluloid is shrinking but not crumbling like I've seen on other knives.

Not too recently, this "Hopalong Cassidy" pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It is now my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper and it did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is a HAMMER BRAND, two blades, one tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), three tang stamps, 3 7/16" closed, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "HAMMER (over) BRAND" (with the flexed arm & hammer) and a vertical "USA" on the right side. The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "IMPERIAL (over) PROV. R.I." The tool front tang stamp says, "PAT. NOS. (over) 2170537 (over) 2281782" The main handle side says "HOPALONG CASSIDY" However, the image of Hopalong and Topper (his horse), has rode off into the sunset. This pocket knife, at some point, did have a bail. This pocket knife does NOT have a bail now. The main blade has no half stop. But, it does have an OK opening snap and an OK closing snap. The secondary blade also has no half stop, along with NO opening snap and NO closing snap. The tool opens and closes properly, with no issues. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. It did need a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Here’s one of my favorite Hammer Brand handle wrap colors on a great knife I found in Warrenton, Texas a few years ago. The knife was in great condition, except for the spring. After I installed a new spring (a little tricky on these fragile knives), it works “good as new”!

Can anyone help me identify exactly what model and year this Hammer Brand Knife is. I thought it's a 1936-37 series due to the Tang stamp style but everyone is selling this style knife dates it in 1940s-50s. I also have yet to see this model in complete condition with the keychain loop and such. Any 'CORRECT' information you provide is greatly appreciated 👍 thanks

Interesting to browse this thread and see the changes a brand name can go through. From the old New York Knife Company Hammer Brand made with premium materials, to the low end Imperial Hammer Brand versions made later that were sold cheaply on cards in gas stations and cafe lunch counters. Runs the full gamut. All of them had good carbon steel blades though! ::tu::

Not too recently, this advertising pocket knife arrived in a large group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It is a HAMMER BRAND, two blades, two tang stamps, 3 1/8" closed, a long main blade pull, two springs, tipped bolsters, advertising, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "HAMMER (over) BRAND" with the flexed arm with hammer, and has a vertical "USA" on the side. The secondary blade front tang stamp has two patent numbers. The main handle side says "LEMON S. SWEIGART - Brick & Blocklaying - Phone Denver: AN 7-4251 - Reinholds, Pa." It also has a house logo. The other handle side has nothing, it is blank. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have an OK opening snap. The main blade does have an OK closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does have an OK opening snap. The secondary blade does have an OK closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning.

Hammer Brand--unfortunately, the batteries in my camera died just after I got this first pic. I'll try to get a pic of the tang tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,
