I don't consider myself a
knife collector but a couple dozen or so have somehow managed to slip into my possession over the years. Not sure how it happened.
OK, well, you've probably got the disease so hang on.

And here's the Clausen leaning up against a neat old S&W automatic pistol that dates to 1922. I picked the pistol up about 2 weeks ago and love how the scales on both kinda match in color.
I like guns and knifes ! Great photo ! Thanks for posting .

Here's an old Clauss #61 pen. It has its fair share of wear and appears to be tipped, but still a nice one. My guess is Queen made?

Thanks, J. O. This one didn't come from Maryland either. It came from an estate auction in Ottawa, Ohio.

Seems they stayed close to home. I've owned 3 in almost 50 years, but I do have two pairs of Clauss pruners. J.O'.

Took some digging to find this thread. Dilligas.. do you still collect Clauss knives?
Found this folder in a box of my great aunts sewing tools with some professional Clauss scissors.(she was a seamstress) Never knew they made pocket knives as well. My Google-foo has turned up nothing on a Clauss Model 40. Feels very well made. Possibly produced by Case in the 50’s or 60’s? Neat find IMO, but wish I could find more background. Thoughts?

Is that better or worse from a collector perspective?

Anything with the case knife name seems to have a higher resale value..Welcome To A.A.P.K. .

Depends on what you mean by “better or worse”. To most Clauss collectors it makes no difference who made them. If you’re asking about value, I agree anything “Case” generally seems to add value. Which is why you often see (hopeful) speculation that they were made by Case, especially often erroneous statements from sellers saying a Clauss knife was made by Case. Case did make some, but so did several other high quality cutleries. A keyword search here on AAPK for “Clauss” will find examples from different makers.
Welcome to AAPK.

Thanks Ken. Was just curious. I’ll probably just enjoy my find unless a Clauss collector reaches out and absolutely needs it for their collection.
