I bought this tool kit at a garage sale. I can't seem to find this kit anywhere on the Internet. Anyone care to enlighten me on whether it's collectable. Only the knife attachment has markings and it says stainless china.

All Goins has on it is ca.1939.He goes on and says Knox-All was stamped on bolsters of small barlow knives and Knox-All was a trademark of E.C.Simmons.Don`t know if they also imported eating sets.

Around about and after WWI, German knife manufacturers, in a effort to neutralize the negative aspects of all things "German", starting marketing knives to America with decidedly American sounding names.

The Merrimack River runs between Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

What could be more New England and American sounding than that?

The set probably dates from that time period.

However, the German makers had been using English and American sounding names prior to that in order to capitalize on the popularity of Sheffield cutlery.

Colonial three piece set in plastic case. Not a slot knife. Each piece has it's own shell type handles.

Rather large Muller and Schmidt (not marked with print, only logo) travel kit in leather case.

What is the handle material on the Muller and Schmidt?

thumper your Merrimac set is a good one especially as it has the 'tumbler' (drinking glass that is not glass). Most of these sets of eating utensils do not have a container for drinking from. Your pics are not good so nature of the handle material cannot be guessed at. Some sets have ivory handles but more are imitation ivory.

The handles are some type of plastic not celluloid.

Does anyone know the value of a Robesons Pocket Outfit #50 in very good condition, from about 1930-1950? under the Robeson discussion, there are pictures posted of one of these kits, but that one in at least 20-30 years older than mine-

I have the same kit in the same leather wallet but the name is A.K.B. The Kit, or something like that. I will have to find it and take some pics. I found mine in a house I rented in the 1970s. I had forgot I even had it.

Corkscrews are rough on covers, (cracking) but this one has held up.

This is an interesting thread, these old tool kit knives are really neat. I only have a couple, pictured below.
