All About Pocket Knives

Pretty sure I got this in 1985. I remember wanting this more than anything for Christmas.

I’ve carried a 110 everyday for over 30 years. This is one I modified that I really like. It is my take on the perfect 110.

Single finger groove almost like a 112. Jimping on the blade and lock button for thumb traction. Very small sharpening choil only as deep as the edge bevel.

Good looking knives, everyone.

I have had one of these fine knives for many years now, with a sheath, and have never carried it.

I still carry my standard type 110 for hunting and general outdoorsman activity but for fishing I have gone to the 110 LT - pocket or hip, you’ll never feel its there. OH

I like the jumping on the lock

Thanks OH. Guarddog, the jimping on the lock helps a lot when my hands are oily/ slippery. The one I use for work I also jimped the bolster. It makes it easier to pull it from the sheath and easier to push the lock button. Again with slippery hands it helps a lot.

I know what ya mean.If I'm. Pulling cable with wire ease on it then I have to strip the cable that jumping would help a lot ,now I have to get the nerve to jump one myself

Very well done, eveled. The spacing is perfect and very crisp! What did you use to do it?

I use a file made for checking metal. I bought the file to check a hammer I bobbed. Then realized what a good job it would do on a knife.

My Buck 110's are both still in the clam-pak and there they'll stay for as long as they live here.

Bought this one from Archway Cutlery a few weeks ago, nice condition Three-Dot (440C ca. 1980-81). It was pretty dull, but between a Worksharp Steel and Ceramic sticks it’s ready to clean deer or fish. Was going into Morehead City to the hardware store on Friday to buy a sheath but the afternoon/evening beach traffic from the west caused me to change my mind - I’ll go Tuesday morning. OH

Bob, it's not that I don't like them. Beyond being a knife, they just flat don't interest me. There are several things that go into that.
They're larger than my preference in knives.
I prefer two blades.
I'm not a fan of lockbacks and that includes mid-locks.
That said, I have knives that fit each of those categories but very, very few fit all those categories.

Thanks Dogg, John. Ole’ Phil really let this one go at a great deal, even when you factor in adding a leather sheath (about $12.00 +/-). Looking forward to some carry time with it. OH

Here's mine. It's never been to Maine as far as I'm aware.

It's a bolt-on Kwik-Stud. I have a few already in place on this 110, a 112, and a Schrade LB7. All tightened with just the supplied Allen key and none have ever come off until I removed them. Useful for making a big hunter like a 110 OHO.

Love the lines of this version of the 110, and yours was blessed with a sweetly-grained hunk of plywood.
