Let me throw a hint out there so folks can have a better shot. This was founded as a New England based company.

Sorry, but no. Another hint…. This knife was part of their more economical line of knives, only one blade is marked.

Not Providence nor USA.
More hints:
For fun, here’s another knife from the same company and their line of less expensive knives to compare to. It also has real tip bolsters and finished springs but also synthetic scales instead of the beautiful bone, stag, pearl, etc… that we would expect to see on their knives.
This company was NOT started as a knife manufacturing company, but bought their way into the cutlery business. Acquiring the equipment and expertise to succeed.

Winchester it is!
It doesn’t look like what I usually picture in my head when someone says Winchester.

I cheated a little by copying the image and letting Google figure it out, usually doesn't work out but this time it was on the money, and it lined up with your last clue

This may be another easy one but there's a backstory to share afterwards, so lets give it a roll.

Cool story Swedg! It reminds us to be patient in ‘filling the holes’.
Swedge would you mind to take my turn? I’m outside with a shovel digging a French drain for a wet weather spring. Not fun but I’m tired of washing the mower.

SURE lets do it again.
A little more obscure (I hope). American, size of a credit card when closed. Has a blade etch.
