Sorry about the photo in the center. It is an 880 and an 881 tube, the knife is an 881.
Those were some file photos. I use them to remind myself what I have, put away 20 years ago.

Both of the 880 knives came in 880 tubes. The "1969" knife is still greased up from the factory.
A friend sold me some 880s, 881s and some 8OTs all in tubes, when he ran out of cash - buying too many knives at once.

I have never looked at it closely before, the blade is stamped 880 on the other side.

Here's a few 863 I have.
I have one more locked in storage it was made in the 1950's,bone handle and pins through bolsters

Thank you Ken for confirming both saber ground blades are 880 pattern. Do you know what the story is on the "1969 Stiletto" ?

Grant, four 863's ! Are the 2 with saber grind bone or Delrin ? Did knife on my right once have the Kon Kav etch ? i.e. did all saber ground clips get the KK etch ?

And Hal, thanks for noting which patterns had a saber grind clip at some point in their lifespan. Basically a saber grind on a Schrade knife is rather rare.

The one with Kon Kav is bone.The rest delrin.I don't know if the top right had KK on it.

Correct. I had a bone sabre-ground 863 and sold it to someone here on the forum awhile back. As I recall he was somewhat gleeful.

Yes and the flat grind 804 is easier to find than the saber ground version.

I have had 3 mint bone 863's with the Kon Kav etch in the last year.Sold 2 and still have 1.You don't see them every day,but they are around.

That is my impression as well, that there are more minty bone S-W 863 with Kon Kav etch than other Schrade Walden bone handled folders.

Just had a quick look at the 880-ST and 881-ST. [ST was bone]
Both sold for $5.35 in 1959, 1960. 1963.
In 1964 the 880-ST is still listed. However, the 881 is listed with Staglon handles.
1965 880 and the 881, is listed with Staglon handles. Both listed at $5.35.
1953 list 863,805 and 880 - all with Saber blade "Polished on one side".
1955 list 821 with Saber grind, 124 with half Saber grind.... Ken

Ken, do you have an example of the Schrade-Walden 821 ? I don't think i have ever seen one of these.

In the 1953 listing the 821 had "full polished saber blade" and "Propwood handles".
The 837 Whittler had a "Miller Back" with bone handles.
The 836 had "Black Celluloid handles".
The 804 had "Bone handles".
The 225 had "Stagged Handles".
And the 124 had "Bone Handles and half Saber blade.
All of these knives had the Saber Main Blade.

These knives are all too early for me, as my oldest knife [an 8OT] was made in 1961.... Ken

I have found # "2943-3/4" had half Saber blades back in 1932.

There are quite a few etched bone 804`s also.I have at least 6 or 7 right now. Several with the "Ever Lastingly Sharp" etch,also Craftsman,Carpenter`s Special and Maher & Grosh.

Picked this Schrade Cut Co off the Bay this morning, thought it is a pretty unusual shadow pattern florist knife, seller states just under 4" and thinks the handles are ebony but I think they might be Fibestos, will have to wait until it shows up to tell, does not appear to be any shrinkage so it might be ebony.
Sellers pics, will have to take better ones when it arrives.

Schrade Pocket Knives catalog E, page 105 shows this knife: No. S1354 1/4
4" Budding knife, flat sided blade with bark loosener on back, thick brass linings, glaze finish, Black celluloid handle.
The "bark loosener" is a flared out piece of the spine near the tip. Looks like it has been filed down on your knife.

Oh Dear, i should have looked a little deeper and not have concluded it was the first one i found. But it is the same knife without the tip tweak.

Calvin, how do you post the catalog image ? take a picture and then crop closely ?

I lay it in a flat-bed scanner, crop it in the preview, scan it and save it to a destination on my computer that seems appropriate at the time. I have not taken the time to set up a work area for a camera shoot nor have I learned how to make that work, but I really need to do so, because my flat-bed scans of knives are horrible and I can't sell the knives for that very reason. Every buyer wants to look at good images.
