Well, I knew should have gone to lunch with the guys today.
I stayed in my office and cruised the knife listings.....
I found this ole Slimline Case that needed a clean-up so I bought it.
It's supposed to go in the mail this afternoon.

Trouble with waking up early on a rainy day; way too much time to browse the AAPK stores! Result of this mornings browsing session. OH

I filled another hole in my Old Timer collection.
The bidding was fast and furious at the end. I sure hope I didn't steal it from one of our members here.....
Anyway....
The illusive 9-OT......
Prolly wont see it 'till next week. DANG HOLIDAYS......

If 3***H and J***S had laid off all that early bidding, one of you might have got it a whole lot cheaper. Congratulations on going the 'smart' route.

Yep... the bidding wasn't real bad first thing this morning....
Then, dang-it.... some more bids starting piling in at the end. Then I began to wonder if I could get it without paying an arm and a leg.
Anyway.... it's on the way!

Well, I think it's foolish to keep bidding like that. It just runs the price up. Ebay is not a live auction so you can wait until the last 3-5 seconds to put your best bid in. That bid, bid, bid is good for the seller, bad for the buyer. Silly people.

My philosophy exactly!
I have noticed that even if I wait until 3 seconds to finalize my bid I can sometimes watch my winning bid get bumped. I have never tried those "apps" that will put your bid in inside the last seconds for you. If it is something I want REAL BAD, I want to sit and watch the last bids anyway.
Case in point, last week I sat and watched a nice, non-working, "up and down" BW Raymond watch go out of my comfort range in the last minute. I sadly turned away from that one.

WELL dang it.....
I wasn't going to buy ANY MORE knives this week because of the upcoming holiday. THEN, I went to crusin' around the bay yesterday and I found this Case Elephant Toe at a swinging good price. SO.... just when I thought I had found a way out by making "a best offer" the dog gone seller took my offer. Well, I guess I can't complain too much. I have been wanting one of these for a WHILE. Make hay while the sun shines......
It's from 1970..... This one is exactly what I wanted.
NOW.... don't get lost in the mail baby.....

Ever since I sat there jaw jackin' with Linnea on the phone and let a knife I WANTED get away cheap because I forgot to bid, I've used Gixen. It works fine for me. I find one I want, decide on my top dollar, plug the item number and my high bid into Gixen, hit the go-giddy-button and let them do the heavy lifting. The best part is (drum roll please) IT'S FREE.

It's knives for everyone this year. I got my wife and stepdaughter this knife. Should be here next week.
They are girly girls, so the colors suit their personalities.

I like that knife, Bruce. My Grandfather retired from Olin Brass in East Alton, Illinois. Might have to see if I can find one like it.

Thanks OH.....
The new ones are out there but I've only seen a few of the "USA" 9-OT's..... (usually out of my price range too)
Being the "home boy" I am, I try to populate my collection with the older USA knives.

Thanks Railsplitter, I liked it too! I have had a lifelong collecting and shooting interest in Olin products (WRA & WCC) - couple that with an interest in Case Knives and the need for a 1970's example of the 44 pattern and that knife was a no brainer for me. Hope you find one for yourself. OH

Nice Peanut gift for girls Napalm. I gave my wife a white jigged bone Peanut a few years ago and she uses it, but her favorite is a little Schrade USA 108OT she saw on my desk and claimed a few months ago. Luckily I had two! OH

Schrade USA 106OT Granddad's Pocket Knife. An Old Timer with scissors! Got it for under $20. They don't show up too often, I guess they didn't sell too well.

Not sure how familiar anyone is with swiss army knives but I believe I have an Elinox 84mm Voyager on the way a very rare model and I'm assuming the blade is in nice shape based on the aluminum anodizing.

Good snag Cody!
Those are hard to find at a "reasonable" price. Under $20 is a GREAT price.
I just got one 2 or 3 weeks ago and I thought I stole it a $30.

Take the time to browse through here. You should be able to get a match and remove any doubt. ---►
