Gut home today afta working in a 120degree hull to a real cool serprise delivered from the Land O' Lincoln,I'm not going to mention his name but he has been showing these orange knives that he loves yet he buys his Granddaughter a teal Leak as the rest of you fellow know he' s one of th main glues that keep this place together and FUN..when you see this missile I believe you all will know where its from thank you Mr Marine ::PS see how close she is to one of my favorite work knives,she will get lots of work time

That crazy fella from Hawaii (QTCut5 ) dropped one on me yesterday. In the package was a very nice book on military pocketknives, "The Complete Book of U.S. Military Pocket Knives" and a Camco Barlow with a sheepfoot main and half-stops on both blades. Very clean for her age and functions as smooth as silk.

Please understand that knife was the poster child for POS. It had zero snap and the blade tip peeked.

I had totally forgotten about that incident but apparently TJ (tjmurphy) had not. Today I received a surprise package in the mail and in it was a factory fresh, never sharpened, never carried, never used Queen #45 Big Chief. No worries about snap with this knife. Sounds like a bear trap when it closes.

You're welcome, Jerry. Don't know that I can go along with the "factory fresh" statement or not but the rest is pretty much right on. The knife is an interesting curiosity with that snap-in back spring and all. I ran across the knife a few weeks ago in my POK (Pile 'O' Knives) and remembered your post, so I drug it out to send to you and it has been sitting on my desk since then. Your offer of the book kick-started my memory and I finally got it out. Packaged before finding the half-dollar though.

I looked at the edge with a magnifying glass and it's factory. No scratches or rub marks on the blade. The aluminum handles have a bit of patina but no dings. What would you call it?

I really appreciate it TJ. It's a fine knife and I'm proud to own it. And to think I would have missed out, had it not been for your selfless generosity. (and steel trap memory )

Jerry, I've got 2 Big Chiefs but not near as nice as yours. They are rather unique, I carry one once in a while just to keep 'em from gettin' lonesome .

Got bombed this morning with a CAMCO Electrician's knife. I didn't previously have one of these so it is a welcomed addition to my pile of E. knives. We have here a CAMCO (CAMILLUS) knife etched with "Property of U.S. Govt. on the main blade. The knife is in un-used condition. Anyone who doesn't have a quality Electrician's knife (I prefer the CAMILLUS) would be surprized at what a great utility knife this is. The bomber has asked to remain anonymous and I will respect that wish.
