Thanks Jerry. The girls have been fishing for a few years, but really got into it this year. Already asked for their own tackle boxes full of lures for Christmas this year.

Fished all my life. Mostly fresh water but some ocean.
First crack at salmon fishing today. Landed a decent one. Salmon steaks tonight and for awhile.

Thanks Gents!
I'm at Noyo Harbor in Fort Bragg, CA. Not too cold. Real nice and calm ocean. No fish last three days on any boats. Only fished today. Felt pretty fortunate as out of 14 on the boat, 4 of of us landed a salmon.
I had the fish steaked down about 2/3 length then fileted to the tail. Had some sushi right off the cutting table.
Packed it up in smalll portions but that sounds like a misnomer as they steaks are HUGE.
Plan on cooking a few different ways. Olive oil and spice pan sear and BBQ with lemon/butter.
Scale is hard to tell but these are big steaks.
Regards, Jerry

Went deep sea fishing out of Gloucester, MA last Friday. Fishing was okay, there were 5 of us on the boat plus 2 crew. We put about 30 or so keepers on the boat. Usually the Cod are very common, this time there was only one caught (by me

).
What we were catching was a fair amount of Haddock and Cusk, both are great eating.
We did also catch quite a few dogfish

They drive away the other fish.
Here's a pic of some of the early catch...and our motley crew

Great shots Glenn! Looks like a fantastic trip!
Just got back from the Eagle River WI area, spent a week on the lake fishing and hiking etc...lots of nice sized (for Wisconsin) largemouth, which all went back in the lake, and a whole lotta decent size sunfish and bluegills. Kept a nice mess of panfish and had a big fish fry in the cottage. I thought I had tossed my Old Timer fillet knife in the gear bag, but somehow I forgot...

....so I had to improvise and use the KABAR and a Case Toothpick for the fish cleaning duties. Got the job done.
