Cal.... when posting.... you need to keep the knife in the same orientation as the catalog clip so that when I stand on the ceiling, the knife doesn't look upside down....

Seriously.... anyway you look at it.... that's one sweet lookin' Schrade!

....far beats the ones I have seen locally lately....

Roger it looks like all of your Schrade-Walden knives have bone handles. These are harder to find than the same patterns with jigged Delrin handles which were first used in 1960.

I got this Cut Co serpentine jack today:
I can't find it in the catalogs so I'm guessing it might be a late teens or early twenties knife. Far from perfect but a nice old Schrade none the less. 2 7/8 closed with a half saber clip and pen blades.

think this would be your peanut pattern. Although yours does not have a shield, that would be a common variation. Yours would sometimes be called "assorted celluloid handle", or AC at the end of the pattern number. a "4" means celluloid, so yours might be 2724 3/8 AC.

Thanks Cal. That's the pattern I was initially leaning towards but I didn't know about the ACs and that there could be variations without a shield. Knowing that helps (and will undoubtedly lead me to misidentify lots of knives, lol) - thanks for the lesson! I think there's one last hurdle in confirming that pattern. The picture of the 2724 has the cap pointing 'up' but the knife I got has a downward facing cap. Some of these old Schrades can really keep you guessing!
