Those ulster knife co stamped jr cattle knives are dandy. They are also very, very similar to a schrade cut co 8563 3/4 or an early schrade walden 856. I think schrade may have sourced the bone for the ulsters.

I have an ulster like that and two early S-W 856's. Side by side the only notable difference is the ulster has steel bolsters and liners while the schrades have ns bolsters and brass liners. All my examples have the factory edges and are in nice condition so the comparison is pretty accurate.
KnifeSlinger,
That’s really great information. One of the things I really like about the folks on this site. Always sharing information with each other. I really appreciate it.
I’ll have to check those two out.

Yup! Luckily I was able to sell a few higher end knives.
Pretty fortunate to get some great knives on this run.
But... it’s now done for a bit...... ::hmm::

So the person I bought that Ulster from told me they lost it or it got stolen ::facepalm:: . I did get a refund so I am now going to try and get one of those 856s.
Thanks for the heads up on those ::handshake::

I have a goal to acquire all of the 1983 schrade heritage knives in each color, and these two came at an excellent price. They appear to be in perfect condition. Hopefully they will arrive before I leave for vacation.

That RR Large Trapper might be my next RR.

I've got two of these on the way. Only cost $5 each. Marked "LAKOTA USA" but I think they're Colonials.

Sure is, Cody. I have two, one each of Endowment and Life member, each stamped differently on the tang. The former is stamped Lakota, latter is stamped Colonial. Same knife.

I could've sworn I took comparison photos of both at one point with stamp close-ups but I searched my clouds top to bottom and couldn't turn 'em up. ::shrug::

That's a pretty one Phil.

I was on ebay, when I shouldn't be looking at knives right now, and I saw this short line camillus 68 and the BIN was low so now it's mine. Looks like it will be a good one after a little cleaning. The bone is on the darker side which I prefer.

Ha! That guy had no idea what he was selling. 1970 with "genuine Cabone" handles indeed.
Short line 1946 to probably appx. 1955 with "genuine Rogers Bone" handles.
Congratulations Paul.

Thanks Mike. It has gotten to the point where many times I am buying the handles and the knife is secondary.
