73 and BM

I gotta own a #73 someday, they're awful purdy....I kinda like Trappers some, too

that 73 is a beauty Gino.

Two 1970's era today. 48 Copperhead Jack and 47 Stockman.

Great knives as usual gents! Carrying multiples today myself, including the big orange Grip...on coffee stirring duty here.

I'm packing my 1978 Case 63047 today. That there sheepsfoot is just right for cutting a chaw off a twist of Red Ox chewing baccer.

Looks like fun Mike! That is a man's coffee stirrer! I like it.

Wade, Nice 047. I edited my post as mine is a 47 not an 047. I favor a sheepsfoot myself. Great knives.

Nice one Wade. 047 is one of my favorite patterns. The chew looks good too but I gave it up about 25 years ago. Used to I could chew and just swallow it but probably make me dizzy (or worse ) nowadays! Day's Work was my favorite.

Ken Red Ox is straight tobacco, dark fire cured, so it has a smoky bite with no sugar or casings. I really like it. Matter of fact I like tobacco too good. Either chew or Copenhagen. I swallow a lot of it too. Usually wind up going to sleep with a chew in my chair of an evening.

Very nice knives fellows Scott those should keep the Grandies busy I used the Stryker,Wave and Peanut at work today.

'75 Red Bone Case Half Whittler and '13 Ebony Tidioute 72 Lock Back traveling with me today. Multiple choice.

Ivoryman that Case has some of the reddest red bone I've seen on a knife from that late into the 70s.

Cal, there is nothing to dislike about that knife. You have yourself a winner right there.

Thought I was the only one falling asleep with dip in my mouth...... Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that does that a lot......

Pro;Schrade 89ot is one of my favorites in pocket during deer and moose season

When I got home yesterday I put my Texas Jack in one pocket and Chestnut Peanut in the other.
The Peanut is very sharp. The small blade on the Jack is sharp.
The main blade on the Jack not so much.
After the Punch Stockman main blade I'm beginning to think something is wrong with the heat treatment of the CV at Case.

I;m going to fool with it some more.

Canal Street trapper and a buck 112 today.

I don't really understand. Last night I'd have sworn the Texas Jack had no edge on the main.

Today it seems not so bad. A little bit of very fine ceramic fixed it up and it does paper just peachy with both blades. Dropped it in my pocket.

Dave that sounds to me like you may have had a little bit of a bead on the edge that the ceramic sticks took care of. Often when sharpening a blade, it's the finishing touches that make a big difference in performance.
