Wow, you got a display box with yours. How cool. Mine is just the knife and is also etched Sacramento River on the main. Like yours it has 1996 etched on the small clip.

The mailman just dropped this Rigid 72 clone on my door step! Judging from the Delrin handles and pin placement that it may have been made by Camillus. Any one know for sure who made this one?

The Camillus #5 made for a few years at the turn of the 21st Century has a plain long pull.
As you said Randy, the handles and the handle pin placement peg it as Camillus for me.

I do Tommy. I have every knife you've given to me and don't know how to show my appreciation for your generosity.

The lack of a match striker made me scratch my head too Tommy. Thats number 5 is cool Jerry! That pretty much sums it up for me! Until someone knows better I'm going to say Camillus. Thanks guys!

Very cool! I love the old 1st generation 72's.
I traded my daddy out of this one today. It ain't a 1st generation but it's a gooder'un with full blades and a federal shield like I like.
(I do have a 1st generation in the mail)!

Glad to see y'all are keeping the line moving. I haven't had a new (to me) 72 in what seems like months. I think the Utica Kutmaster I got from Scott back in January was the last one.

I just love these 72's. I have another one on the bench right now. Its a first gen. Came to me as a place holder. It had busted up handles and rusted blades. I think there is a pic already posted. After I finish cleaning the blades and putting some Moose antler on it I'll get some pics up. May be a while though. Returning to work after neck surgery did not turn out well. doing my retirement application on Monday. After the nerve pain settles a little I plan get this 72 finished! good to see back on the boards Jerry!

Thanks Randy. Did I read you correctly? You're retiring? You're going to love it. Best job you'll ever have.

Yep Jerry you read correctly.

Earlier than I planned though. Pension is very small.

I was waiting until my grand daughter goes to college in June. I plan on moving and dramatically scaling back on things. The good news? My new place is a two story studio. The new shop is going upstairs and my living space is down stairs. Kitchen living room, and such is all down stairs. This gives my about a six times more work space than i have now.
And I can work on my knives as much as want! Or not. The new place is next to Lake Natoma. I do a lot of hiking around there. And the entrance is gained by walking across the street

Hiking and fishing here I come! Just wished I could have made it to June so I could help Ruby transition to college with a few extra bucks. But hey, that's one of the reason I collect knives. Now I can put that collection to good use! A little at a time of course!

Rofl.
I figure if I stick to collecting 1st generation 72's I'll save money. So far I only run up on one every 3-4 years. Lol.
In my defense, my max bid was quite a bit higher than the final bid. I was padding it in case any of you sneaky snakes were holding your fingers over the button until the last second!
