Finished up this piece of scrap wood today. Haven’t decided what finishing technique to use yet, painted or just sealed.

I would just seal it, that is a fine carving.

Howdy all, just whittled a little mushroom for my second project and then decided to try a face for the first time since the mushroom was so simple. It's not very detailed, and I'd like to improve on the eyes quite a bit. If anyone has any pointers on whittling faces or good books they'd recommend, please let me know!

Look up Kevin Coats and Van Kelly on YouTube, great videos on faces(Coats doesn’t talk though).

Thanks! I actually watched a Van Kelly video before I did that face. I really like how he breaks it down so easily.

Post us some of you work, this thread as been dead lately(I’m having wrist issues and haven’t whittled in a while).
