Hey knife nut, i have 2 step daughters, but he is actually my first born. Things sure got crazy here but in a good way. At least now theres another man in the house, though he may be little.

My wife snapped this of me yesterday when I was outside trying to knock snow off the branches before the freezing rain started. I haven't seen any real damage to our trees so far, but we only got 1/8" of freezing rain as opposed to the 1/2" that was forecast.

I thought this might be appropriate, a picture of one of our grandsons opening up his birthday present, a 3254 CV Case. It was born the same year he was, 2006. Got to locate a similar 2004 before September. He and his older brother already have a collection started. Another family member gave them an old Imperial Scout/camp knife with the 1936-'52 tang stamp.

I can abide the snow, but it gets old quick.
The freezing rain can be beautiful but is very destructive, especially when we get 1/2" buildup on everything like trees, bushed, power lines, streets, sidewalks, etc.
Very dangerous and destructive!
However we dodged the bullet this time, instead of the 1/2" forecast, we only had about 1/16" buildup.
Here is a pic looking toward my neighbor’s house morning after the freezing rain fell. You can see the ice around each twig reflecting the neighbor’s porch light.
It can be beautiful at sunrise, but it was cloudy.

Dale, looks like a cold winter yall are having. Haven't seen any of thuat since i left Tennessee a few years ago. Here in florida we dont get much of that. I miss it but the wife sure dont. Stay warm up there. Wish i was there.

It is 50 degrees now at 8:20 PM and it is raining like a normal Willamette Valley winter!

All 14 inches of snow has pretty much melted from the warm rain. I should go see the river tomorrow, bet it is up several feet.
I will welcome more snow in the mountains so we won't have a dry summer, but give me rain in the valley!

Yes rain is always good! Glad to hear the snow in the valley has gone, we're supposed to get a couple of inches tomorrow. We'll see if that happens.

All the knives there are for sale. I built a second display that I put behind behind the one shown at left. That display reaches about the same height but goes to the floor and faces the other direction. It is also full of fixed blades. Those that don't fit on the displays are in cases on the floor. The wife says they all look the same to her. To me they are all distinctly different.

I may have gotten carried away with the fix blade knives.
