Thanks. I'm not sure. Years ago when I was a kid there were characters on seaseme street tv show like these they called them yips. But they could be ghosts or Et's. They are fun to carve and in the fall when I'm in the woods I'll add them to pictures for a laugh.
Thanks guys. If you search Ddalo carver on YouTube you can see how they are carved. For a short cut you can pre cut the block out with a saw. It is carved on the corner of a block.

Yips are what they remind me of. I didn’t know the name but I knew what I thought of.

I’ve not been carving much lately, I seem to be having a problem with inspiration on what to make. A customer at my wife’s restaurant saw my work and wanted a hand with 3 fingers up( kind of like a Scout would do) but spread more. She said her dad traveled for work and as he pulled away she would put 3 fingers up to him for “I Love You”. I made this for her the next day, just waiting for her to come in again.

Thanks guys, it was nice to have a project to do. I guess I have too much going to be inspired to carve anything, hopefully that will change.

That is a great carving for her and I'm sure she will love it. I know what you mean about being inspired, sometimes I have to force myself to go out to the shop and get started on someone's order.

Thanks, and I get it, I enjoy it when I carve, but if I’m not interested in the subject it is tough to get done.

Found another carved gun stock. From a video not my rifle.
The owner thought it was factory done.

Made this with the town’s annual Peanut Festival in mind. A different take on the old ball in a cage.

Scrap wood doodle at work last week. The no on the eyes ran a bit when sealing so I had to trim and scrape some off.
