Thanks I really want one of those Swaybacks. And either a mini Trapper or a full size Copper lock with wharncliffe blade.

New farm knife, a Skedco Warfighter Extreme Medic (Eickhorn PRT IV with added tank key), which I bought for two reasons, its blunt blade is good for when something might need to be cut off livestock (or people), and it is designed for easy operation with heavy gloves on (a necessity in the winter). The strap cutter I'll primarily use to open feed sacks and cut baler twine. Glass breaker is a "just in case" tool, but hope I never have to use it (and I didn't know it had one until I looked closer.
These seem to be popping up a lot as surplus (pulled from a rigging kit for military MEDEVAC) brand new for $30. Skedco wants $130 for them.

Doug, there are a few here that are addicted to those patterns, mostly the 07 Mini-Trapper. Check out the "Ode To The 07" thread ---►

There's also a Wharncliffe thread devoted to the Wharncliffe handle pattern ---►

This thread might interest you since it has many frame patterns with Wharncliffe blades. You might see something that you're unaware of.

That blade profile is addictive.

Doug...Do you have any particular mini trappers or wharncliffe Copperlocks in mind (specific handle material)? Chances are fairly good that I have something that will interest you in either category. Send me a PM with your wish list and perhaps we can find something to satisfy your craving. (I also have some nice Swayback Jacks too).

Thanks I'm probably going to get the Swayback first. I'm more of a user than a collector. I would like to try a Swayback in CV steel. I will send you a pm.
Jerry thanks for the info. I will check it out.

Pile Driver, is that a rarity? A 'carry me" looking old knife.

Fished this Kershaw outta the bay yesterday.
Two-blade with the clip being a locking. Never seen this model before . .
I was the only bidder. Got it for a user (duh) but it might be a tad heavy in the pocket.
SELLER'S PICS ....

Royal - that looks like either a Kershaw "Corral Creek" or "Wildcat Ridge". I think Kershaw made 3 different sizes of lockback slipjoints that looked like that, and I have seen them with a few different handle materials (wood, plastic, etc). I think they were made in Japan. I have a couple of later models of Kershaw lockbacks, the "Squaw Creek" and the "Indian Ford" - both are very nicely constructed knives. Good snag!

Jerryd you are an enabler. The little knife devil sitting on one's shoulder saying 'buy it, buy it'.

This Mini-Trapper arrived at the Rockford P.O. at zero dark thirty this AM. Tomorrow (song in "Annie"), or as we called it in the Corps, a wake up (i.e. two days and a wake up). I hope it looks as good in person as it does in the picture.

Case has a few bone colors that really evoke the vintage look, that is one of them - nice knife Jerry. OH

Thanks Colonel. USPS says that one is in Rockford so should be delivered today. I'm looking forward to it.
I bought another one yesterday that I think is going to be just fine. The sellers pictures are pretty bad and don't show it but the tang stamp says it's Appaloosa Bone. We'll see later in the week what a little clean up and some better pictures can do for it.
