Oh, that's nice! That Red Phenolic is cool. I've been tempted a few times to substitute a Red Phenolic handle into my set, when a Cherry wood model wasn't available.
Good luck on the Red 118. I built the Cherry wood set mostly from the Buck web site. Check "web specials"&"limited edition" daily. The products are the same everyday, then all of a sudden they change, then sell out quick. " Buck of the month" is fun too, although none have tripped my trigger. Copper and Clad is great too.
I've been working on a sambar stag set too, but it's been slow going.
Extreme patience is necessary.

Nice Lakelife! The larger one is aluminum and the smaller (526?) looks to be nickel silver.
Eveled, I like that 119 too.

I called Buck customer service and told them of the damage to it and they told me to send it in and they would fix or replace it. It has the Buck date code X, which means it was made in 1990. I will be sending it in this week and see what they decide to do.

To follow up on my sending this Buck 305 Lancer in for factory warranty, I received a NEW replacement today. Buck customer service is the best!!

I have seen some Buck knives that really look nice. But I couldn't get two different knives to slice paper.

I just ordered a 1995 vintage 503 off of Ebay for $18.99 total. Add says it's unsharpened and pics looks good.Didn't need it but I couldn't resist the price.

Many a month’s budget has been blown for that very reason.
Don’t ask me how I know!

Thanks! The wood grain is pretty tight in my opinion. I've seen looser grain patterns on Ebony but only one knife has passed through my hands that had a tighter grain pattern. The Ebony on this one is almost all black with a couple of hair line brown streaks that are almost invisible unless I'm looking for them. Barely worth mentioning but they are there.
It is indeed one of the new USA made sheaths. It's been about 37 years since I've owned a Buck leather sheath but this one seems just a tiny bit softer than the one I had long ago. It seems well made and it's stamped on the back with "112" and "Proudly Made in USA".

Beauties OH, are those available on the BCCI website or on BF only? If so can you post a link or tell where to find them on the BF forum? Both are
very nice, I love the tang stamp & the long pull like the '72-'86 Camillus-made knives, (not to mention the CPM154 w/BOS steel & stag handles).

Thanks for the info OH, I missed these because I don't use BF much anymore since the Photobucket issue popped up. I'm not keen to pay for services that should be free, (like posting photos on a forum), so I wasn't in the loop to get notified. I can still post to BF, just can't post photos & lost photos on my own threads. I'm a member of several forums covering various subjects, and can post photos on all, BF is the ONLY forum requiring pay to play.

Bay, I'm only on a handful of sites and I just don't see ponying up 30.00 a year to be on one but you don't have to pay. To be on bf. I don't. Use postimage. As far as bf knife, I'm probably going to give mine up if anyone is interested.
