They felt like they might have a better chance of seeing Bigfoot if they were higher......

It's too wet in LA for Bigfoot but we had a big time before and after the 2" rain today. Grandsons on spring break, they can swim like fish but they have their life jackets on while they are in the john boat before the rain then after the rain they went for a walk and ended up swimming in one of the fish ponds, them and the dogs! (Oh to be young again ::nod:: )

Here's a few more pictures of the grandson's visit. Had a beautiful sunny day yesterday, so it was back to the pond and they "tried" to fish from the little john boat ::pray:: . After the big rain on Monday I figured they wouldn't catch much with artificial baits but that is what they wanted use. The older one managed to catch 2 little bass on a little rubber worm. They ended up fishing from the bank as the wind kept blowing them around in the boat. It was fun to watch and I got real good at untangling lines, didn't know you could make such a mess with a Zebco ::uc:: !

About 30 years ago, our old pastor used to say "It's good to see 'em come and it's good to see 'em go!" I now understand completely. You should have grandsons 1st, while you're young enough to keep up, they left this morning but I already miss 'em ::teary_eyes:: .

Thanks for the positive comments on both sets of pictures, Gentlemen! I know some of y'all have grandsons too and it's good to portray them doing something positive ::tu:: !

TJ, you must be trying to scare me, you know there ain't no moccasins or gators in Florida ponds  !

Tendots, he belongs to the boys, came from a rescue as a puppy, supposed to be Weimaraner/Lab cross ::shrug:: . His ears aren't as large as a full weimaraner, but he had the blue eyes as a pup. The other dog is a Choc. Lab/Australian Shep. cross, her bones structure is much heavire than the gray dog. They both love the water.

Those boys are making some great memories. It's good to see a couple of boys getting to be boys like boys used to be.

Last day of a mini vacation for me today, so I got up early and hit the woods one more time.

Humped about a mile back onto a wooded island (more of a peninsula actually) that extends out into the marsh....it was so peaceful it almost took my breath away a little..

Sandhill cranes and Canadian geese flying overhead...redwing blackbirds perched atop the cattails...cardinals and chickadees calling and flitting from tree to tree....and not another human around for miles...even jumped a few deer from their morning ritual and watched as they bounded off across the marsh...

It was one of those moments where I just breathed it all in and tried to capture some of that serenity to carry with me moving forward...

...pics can't do it justice, but I snapped a couple anyway...the top pic enlarges pretty nice and turned out well I thought.
