No whittling with this one, that curve in the edge would make it bite deep, fast.

The other Paxton Knife by Joseph Rodgers . ::groove::

This is the first Paxtons Knife I had seen . I am fortunate to have obtained it. This one has a steel bushing inserted into the "tang" of the ivory spud. 8) ::tu:: ::tu::

All are Ivory. The checkered J Wood ( looks to be another Sheffield other than J Rodgers) and the two Joseph Rodgers. All are made in honor of Joseph Paxton horticulturalist and architect of the 1851 Crystal Palace . I would guess the pattern was commissioned shortly thereafter.

I couldn't fit the three opened and showing their three blades as whittlers, so I scanned their secondary blades separately.
