Good looking Chopper, it looks like it will get the job done. I've shot a few Javelina. Those critters have already migrated over into Louisiana, and Mississippi. Last time I saw one live was at Camp Shelby. I figure they will be here next to migrate to Alabama, we already have a large Armadillo population.

The Javelina are tough as hell and they can tear a dog up real bad with their sharp javelina tusk. My dog and my buddies have both been to the pet
emergency room after getting too close.

No worries about javelina here, but some coyotes have been spotted uncomfortably close to my house. My little dog is very carefully watched over when she goes outside.

No worries about javelina here, but some coyotes have been spotted uncomfortably close to my house. My little dog is very carefully watched over when she goes outside.

A few years ago a coyote grabbed my neighbor's 9 lb. dog and took of with it, then dropped it a few yards away with only minor damage to the dog. A javelina grabbed and bit into my buddies Chihuahua and that bit killed that dog.

Cats and dogs are also prey for large hawks and eagles.

It was a beautiful day for our walk today, 74 degrees and blue skies. Trey found out that leaping over fallen trees can be hazardous if you don't know what's on the other side! In his single minded dash after a squirrel he jumped over a log, the squirrel shot up the tree immediately on the other side and Trey ended up in the creek just beyond the tree! Guess it's bath night.

The knife in my pic is a Svord friction folder from new zealand , does look like a N in the pic , there pretty cheap to buy and i do antler handles for them and other material like micarta , this one i use with my ferro rod as its got a 90% spine towards the top to strike it

Sometimes as many as 10 or 12 come by the house, but normally it is 2-5. I am always careful as the come around my front door and sometimes my dog is on the porch. He is 70 lbs. however, I don't need a $1500 vet bill for a scrap between 'em

Know what you mean. My dumbass Muffinhead will run up on anything as exhibited on one of our visits to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia when he decided that an adult male black bear would make a great playmate. Fortunately the bear was not in the mood to play or fight and ran off into the woods with Trey following and probably feeling victorious. He's 88 lbs of pure muscle and courage......to the point of stupidity.

But he's a happy guy.

Yep. He is a cool dog. As we were getting ready to go for our daily walk he told me he wanted to carry his own knife on this one. (yes I speak fair to middlin' dog). So I let him have an Old Timer scout and damn if he didn't sit right down and give me a big smile!!!

So I decided to take knife photography to a different level...closer to the ground and with four legs! Had to take it off before I let him run, didn't want him to beat himself to death.

Awesomely creative knife photography, and he looks like he has a paracord key fob, too!

What a great smile!

I couldn't believe it, when I put that knife on his collar he was happier than a pig dipped in poo! Had to get a pic of that! Now I'm waiting for him to figure out how to use it without opposing thumbs!
