Those are some very nice curves in the knife and the stump, Charlie!
I've always thought that nature is a fine artist, I just add a knife and take credit!
Charlie you are as good a wordsmith as you are a photographer.

Thanks Doglegg. That's a polite way of saying I know how to run off at the mouth, right?

I have sometimes looked, really looked, at just one leaf and thought that if I could produce a piece of work as beautiful as that leaf, then I would be proud to claim the title
artist!
One man's partially burnt log is another man's artistic canvas, right?

Thanks for the kind words, fellows.
QS - the covers on that Bulldog are white. That is what the person I bought it from said, and that is what I say!
Great photo, Charlie. What is that flower blooming in the background?
Ivoryman - that is some nice old bone on the Keen Kutter. Old bone and old steel with a patina like that is hard to beat.

Thanks Mel. I'm not sure what those little flowers are. My neighbor, who does a lot of gardening, calls them Blue Bells. They grow wild all around here every spring.

Looks similar to my kit back when I was doing the Buckskinning/Rendezvous thing. Had a lot of fun with that.

If you love frontiersmen, primitive skills, and reading you should check out The Book of Buckskinning series from Muzzleloader Magazine (I have volumes 1 through 5, there may be more). They contain a great deal of "how to" information on primitive skills used to live and trade on the frontier. I think you'll enjoy them.

That's one nice Canoe. The more I see yours, the more I think I need to hunt one down (maybe for my "significant years" collection).

Thanks Dan.
It's a large canoe (or gunboat) lock back, 4 1/2" closed. I found this one on ebay.
