Thanks John.
It's a nice hand-full. Where large traditional folders are concerned I have three favorites. The Ka-bar in the pic and these two (pics from past walks):

That's something I would carry regularly. Some of that yellow needs to make its way into my cabinet, pockets, and (eventually) sheaths!

Great shots Squach, love the old yellar Case sitting in the snow. Nice rotten log pose too. Fabulous. Is that stump shot todays weather? Summer came early, supposed to be almost 80 degrees here today. Not ready for that yet, winter just ended and hoped it would be a slow warm up. Nope.

Model #3299 1/2, 8 dot 1972. it's a hand-full of yellow Delrin and CV carbon steel. It snaps like a gator and has a very solid half stop.

Thanks Ivoryman! Nice shot you took yourself, a couple of good lookin' knives.
The Ol' Yeller shot is from a walk winter before last. The Qkapi on the stump is today's weather, partly cloudy and 62 degrees with a nice breeze.

Thanks for the additional info. Seems that particular pattern is not in current production. I might check the AAPK stores and eBay just for fun

I've seen two on ebay in the past few days, both "used" and from the '70s.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-XX-USA-8- ... SwhHJgS4XH
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-XX-USA-6- ... SwORFfa3P3
I thought they were a little over-priced for their condition but the seller lists "or best offer" so negotiation is possible.

I took a look at his listings. They do seem a little pricey, but he had a lot of '78s to tempt me.

Shoot him an offer, Steve aka: Knifeaholic is a great person to deal with. I have bought from him a few times, and he always offered me a deal. Send him a pm here on AAPK and ask him about a knife you saw in his listing. I usually include a link to it and let him know I'm a member of AAPK, and also let him know what your ebay member name is. He will usually work with you. Plus, you don't have to worry about his knives, they will be as he describes them. If he says they have good snap, they usually have great snap. I have had nothing but great experiences with him.

I will do that once I decide which '78 I'd most want.

I agree with Smitty. I have purchased knives from Knifaholic in the past and he is also a member of the Case Collectors Club. I didn't want to sound like an advertisement so I just gave you the link and let you decide for yourself.

Not trying to derail the thread...but Steve made me an offer on a 1978 Case 6254 that I couldn't refuse!

I've had two large dogs who thought they were lap dogs. You took two nice knives on your walk/squirrel hunt! Being a Sailor, I always like a nice scrimshaw, and the CopperLock is a good choice. I'm very happy with mine.

Thank you gentlemen!!!
Dan, yes Bark River is based out of Escanaba, MI. It always reminds me that there was once another great knife co. in Gladstone MI, which has been lost.
