All About Pocket Knives

Thanks Johnnie and Keith, I figured I'd keep this one as a collectible. Since it's the same knife as the #48 Queen whittler, I can always buy a honey aged amber bone whittler with D2 steel as a user, as if I NEED another user ! Whenever I buy a new knife, my better half always has the same comment..."Don't you have a knife like that already?!" and the ever popular..."How many knives do you NEED?" I never do answer her

Here is a 1979, 1 dot, Case 6383 whittler I purchased from "upnorth," no,not the directional, but good 'ol Charlie himself Thanks Charlie. (sorry the pic isn't that great, just got my camera workin' again today.It has beautiful brown bone scales!)

Here's a picture I scanned a while ago, of three S & Ms.
The two larger ones are sturdy knives with a nice large grip.
The top and bottom are handled in old winterbottom bone, and the middle one has buffalo horn, with a pearl shield.

One more; this is a little guy!
An unusual pattern, this was likely made for Shapleigh Hardware, by the Empire Knife Co. It is of full whittler construction, with a wedged backspring, and very sturdy despite being a hair under 3" long!
This is the only one I've seen with this profile.

A '1st' Tidioute with green bone and all blades marked. Master blade as in first photo, both secondarys like the last pic.

The only thing greener than the bone on that GORGEOUS Tidioute knife is my envy! Congrats Fran, I love it.

Schrade made some nice ones. Here's a serpentine "Carpenter's Special".

Here's a smaller version of the serpentine whittler. The pic doesn't show the small blades well. I'll have to dig it out and scan it again.
A nice color in the peachseed jigged bone.

Here's a rare one, another Schrade. 4" long, it's a lengthy but slim knife. This one came from a display board and is mint!

I 've got several Robeson whittlers. I've just shown one in the Sherwood thread.
If I show them all, I'll be at the computer for quite a while. They are all in KNIFE GALLERY V on my website.
But, Bernard Levine has stated in every edition of his Knife Guide that there is no such thing as a gunstock whittler, other than the Orange Blossum that was made by many different makers.
Well, Robeson made two of which I am aware. One was a real whittler pattern, working man's knife. It's 3 3/8" long with nice brown bone, worm-grooved handles. The other was a little 2 1/2" fob knife, but constructed in a true whittler configuration.
