I almost bought this knife from Mark(SSk)but decided against it at the last minute ~Q~!
I'm glad it went to a good home! The black lip pearl is stunning, and how it opens/closes ain't too shabby either! 
Actually, I've owned this one for a number of years...bought it from AG Russell during The Monkey's MOP/Abalone OCD period. But thank you for the kind words, marco. I agree, it is a pretty cool knife.
Some may be able to flick it open (certainly not me though). I love the ergonomics of the knife and the Wharncliffe blade too (of course), but the top lock is pretty stiff and hard for me to close.

Mark had one in his store not long ago and when you posted it I made an "ass" of myself by "ass"uming that was the one. Wherever it came from it's one cool knife! No worries, marco...it's not exactly a common knife so it's entirely understandable how you might have drawn that conclusion. I did see the one SSK had for sale and was intrigued because it's only the second one like it that I've seen for sale on the secondary market since I got mine in 2011.
Yah, Canada Customs has gone completely off the rails with their B.S. restrictions ~Q~! They claim that they can use the stud to start the blade out of the channel about 25% and then with a quick flick of the wrist snap it open the rest of the way, hence making it a "gravity" knife and illegal to import or even possess. I got the seized knife through Mark at SSk, and he also said the top-lock was very stiff and difficult to operate, but Customs said they could do it, and who has the money to take them to court over something I'd probably lose anyway. About 3-4 years ago they would only concentrate on autos, but somewhere along the line they took it upon themselves without any legal legislation I might add, to go after ANYTHING but true 2-hand opening slip-joints and fixed blades. So in essence I can't legally import knives with studs, flippers, buttons or any other form of assisted opening. And the really ridiculous part is, I can go into any sporting goods store and buy folders with studs, flippers, or otherwise assisted openings, carry it home in my pocket, and enjoy it like I would any new knife I buy. When officials are confronted with why all these models are prohibited their explanation is, if a person was being arrested the hand that hasn't been cuffed yet could quickly open an assisted knife and cause injury to the LEO, whereas with a 2-handed knife one needs 2 hands free to open it. NONSENSE, I fully agree! Our lawmakers STILL have James Dean with an auto in his hand stuck in their minds, and can't seem to get to the point where they realize such knives are tools and not the evil instruments they STILL think they are. And you hit the nail on the head when you described how I have my autos shipped! It started with Roadsideimports when they were still operating, where the owner was happy to remove the blades and send them in a separate package to restricted countries, but the government has since shut them down likely due to serious infractions against the 1958 Switchblade Act. After they closed their doors I simply started asking prospective sellers if they'd be willing to ship via that method and fortunately I've been able to find a handful who are. When either package gets to Customs and is inspected they hold it for as long as they are allowed to just to inconvenience me for using the shipping "loophole", but all packages are eventually released to me because our law reads that a knife arriving in such a manner is classified as "parts" and 100% legal to import. Even when I've purchased knives from Mark, if they were assisted in any way I'd ask him to attempt tightening down the pivot so the knife couldn't be flicked open, but they've caught onto that one too and claim the knife was DESIGNED as a 1-hander even if the pivot is tight. So, as you can see it's been quite the adventure trying to add to my collection, but it currently sports 44 autos, 176 manuals, and 52 fixies so after a lot of work I haven't done too badly! Canadian Customs seems to be exceptionally restrictive with regard to knives. How do you manage to get all those autos through...disassembled and shipped piecemeal in separate packages, perhaps?

Thanks. The little Gerber is just under 3 inches closed length and is designed to be a box cutter. Can’t recall where or how I got it but it’s never been used. It’s an older one, the newer ones are made in China.
