Wow! I will post one this evening on the road now.

OK. This knife was given to me by Bill Hammons so I will post this in memory of Bill. About 3 1/2" Scout knife. It would be the least known knife brand posted so far in this thread. Houston Price says the brand was gone during the 1950's and he values them at less than $65. In looking at the AAPK threads for additional information many speculate that this brand sold contract knives made by Utica and others.

Utica, Moore Maker, Kut Master, and Van Camp are all wrong. This is the only R,W, & B knife I have ever seen from this brand.

Hammer Brand, Tryon, Shapleigh, and Standard Knife Co are all incorrect. I can't verify this with any of my reference books, but AAPK members have posted that this brand is from NY and was sold in Dept. Stores.

Richard I admire your tenacity but all of the most recent guesses are wrong. Maybe I picked too hard of a brand for this but I have been giving good clues and there is much discussion on AAPK about this brand. I'm surprised Wayne didn't get it right off. Here is a copy and paste hint from AAPK.I don't have a Goins to verify this.


Goins shows ( Brand X) to be a trademark used by Samuel Bernstein of New York between 1914 and 1954. Some of these knives were apparently imported and sold by F.W. Woolworth
