I never knew what they were use for, I've seen then around antique stores, but always thought they were miniature toy tools. Wow. Dave you taught me something, now don't get the big head you could teach this ole man a lot.

Skip, that one does have a different nail puller than most so I'm not 100% sure it's a cigar box opener. It just may be a toy hatchet. Many of the box openers are made to look like hatchets, but that one is different so I'm not sure. I was sure enough to add it to my collection. I'll have to see if it will pull one of the tiny nails in a cigar box. ____Dave

I did a Google search for "antique cigar box openers" and nothing appeared that even closely resembles my hatchet. I then did a Google search for "antique cast iron toy hatchet" and many, many of them appeared. So, I do believe that, at least mine is a miniature toy hatchet and not a cigar box opener. Still, it's quite old and an interesting piece.

Bottle and can openers. I didn't and don't collect these. These are those items that ended up in drawers throughout our house. In my father's workbench, my mother's kitchen drawers, desk drawers, basically everywhere. If I happen to find a free one, fine, I'll add it to these. But I'm not actively collecting them. Represented and pictured below are the following beers and breweries. Not in any particular order. Acme Brewing Company, Ballantine, Falstaff, Hamm's, Jacob Ruppert Brewery, Knickerbocker, Olympia, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Schaefer, Schlitz and Utica Club. These are all from the 1960's to the early 1970's.

Yep, I resemble these remarks!
You should see my room! I share a main floor and keep the collections strictly in my own space. It’s getting pretty crowded in here!
Hey, New Windsor, do you have the Alice Pez?!

No, I don't. I didn't know there was an Alice Cooper PEZ dispenser. Haven't actually bought one of these in quite some time. I don't collect them anymore and am selling these off. Oh, by the way, my name is Skip.

Hi Skip!
Hi Ann. If it wasn't for the makeup, gloves and the snake, that would look a little like a Cher PEZ.

Mugs and Tankards and Steins, Oh My!
The one in the first picture is 26 inches tall (total, with lid).
The "Bud Man" (5th picture), I won playing a game on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, New Jersey (mid 1970's).
Oooops, the last picture was a straggler. Damage is from 1994 Northridge earthquake.
I also have 50 glass, promotional beer related mugs and glasses (not pictured).
I'm not actively collecting these anymore, but if I see one that I like and can afford it, I'll buy it.

I don't collect PEZ, however back in the Summer of 1989 while attending the twice yearly Toy Show in Glendale Ca. and speaking to a seller, he informed me that I had just missed meeting the actress "Demi Moore."
He informed me that he had just sold many PEZ dispensers to her and that she is a big PEZ collector.

I would like to know if she collects any specific type of PEZ dispensers. The early, first ones, with NO feet are HIGHLY sought after and collectible. The ones WITH feet, like mine, are collectible, but not to the degree of the early ones. Thank you for sharing the story Old Folder.

OF, that is pretty fantastic. I had seen them on knives but not just as keys.

Well I looked through the box of my father's stuff and this is all I could find.
I don't know what it is or what it was used for. One end looks like a wrench, the
other end is open and square in shape. It is approx. 2 1/2" long overall.

Question answered, mystery solved. It's an old roller skates key. It's pictured on the right side of the
picture in the first "newspaper" article Old Folder posted (with a chain or string attached). I didn't see it at first.
(I posted the "newspaper" page again and the item in question) Thank you Old Folder!

Skip as soon as I saw the photo I knew that was a skate key. Somewhere back in the dim recesses of my memory I recall having one of those as a kid and having it on a string around my neck. No telling how much hide I left on the sidewalks using the skates that old key went to.

If they weren't adjusted perfectly (and sometimes even if they were) those skates would slip free of my shoes and send me stumbling and crashing at a high rate of speed. How did I ever survive my childhood ?

I've wondered the same thing, especially my teenaged years.

I'm 20, and suffering from bashing myself around yesterday for 4 hours. Mountain Biking on a real MTB Mountain. Crashed bad twice...
Scraped my left knee, left thigh, left belly side, left forearm, bruised left rib cage, overstretched left arm. Bruised left side of skull. Scraped both shoulders bad, and bruised right rib cage.
But had a total blast!
I'm going to do it again! And probably break something in the process.
Show me guys what you got. Can you take it?
