I wondered about the missing stamp. Was'nt sure if it was worn out or something off. Oh well , I only paid $25 for one and traded a knife I did not care about for the other. Win some lose some.

Here is a dag blade Russell made for the Museum of the Fur Trade at Chadron Nebr. they sold the blades only, I made mine into the knife as intended. The sheath was made and beaded by a good friend. It’s a honkin big knife.

Here is one I never thought I would find, an unused Russell Barlow with all original finishes remaining as it left the factory. Arched tang stamp puts it 1933 to 1941. Russell barlows were sold in almost every hardware store across the country, sold for as little as 15 cents, made tough and cheap they were used hard and used up, unused ones are extremely difficult to find. Russell probably made millions of them over a very long time.

Yesterdays find: a well used 1 blade with steel bolsters & liners. Handles are either ebony or rosewood. In the five buck box. Couldnt leave it abandoned.

Thanks Floyd, if it wasn't for the fine hairline crack it would be better than decent. On an old Russell Barlow some say that just adds character.
