I'll confirm the rumor - boys knife ...

LF&C Boys Knife - 3 & 1/4" - Cocobolo handles, steel liners and bolsters... I am wondering if this knife pre-dated the Universal branding & etch which started in the 1890s based on tang stamp (no Universal etch but of course it is possible that it was wore off)... Both blades stamped the same with LF&C/NB CONN/USA.. I see less LF&C knives with this particular LF&C stamp than others. In fact finding LF&C knives without black rubberoid or celluloid are less common - The only natural handle materials I have seen on LF&C are wood and MOP though my LF&C Fixed Blade Hunter from ca 1880-90 had thick gnarly stag handles... I do not think I have ever seen bone handles on a LF&C...

I have a box of kitchen knives with jigged bone handles, nice stuff but very rare.

Your mention of table cutlery and your jigged bone handled kitchen knives triggered my memory and I would enjoy seeing those jigged bone kitchen knives some time on the right thread ... Anyway Joe and I once were discussing this and when we did a little searching (and Joe may have some LF&C table cutlery as well) we came to the conclusion they made much more fancy table cutlery than pocket knives when it came to handles (not sure they even used rubberoid for kitchen knives?) ... perhaps kitchen cutlery was more relevant to the bulk of their business in appliances and other kitchen aids etc so they made higher quality knives to compliment that aspect - just guessing...

Lovely knife Lee! Nice to see LF&C pocket knives in handle materials other than the usual.

I already posted pics of this in the OKCA thread, but thought they should be in here as well. This is the boy's knife display that knowtracks (Dave) and upnorth (Charlie) had set up at the last OKCA show. The kukri resting on the yoyo, in the last pic, is part of the award they received for the display.

Thanks Dan ... nice to see Charlie's and Dave's display as well !!! .... I recognize some of the brands in the display - curious to know which others were included ...

Nice group of boys knives and some real classics ludwig26 ... I assume the last one is the GEC Lick Creek knife - based on Lyle's childhood memories? It looks like it but wasn't sure based on your description

Yes Sir it is. picked it up today at a little gun show. I have heard GEC is making them with a bail and chain but don’t know for sure.
