I'm a bit late, but that is a cool, elegant Holley you have. I love the propeller shield, the bold swedge on the main blade and the slim secondary blade.

Lloyd, A real beauty. Here's a cut from a 1915 Holley catalog of this knife, pattern # 22054 Ebony Handle "Big Spear" - $5.00 per Dozen. = 42 cents each wholesale. Probably 80 cents retail? In 1915 that was an expensive knife. Not many of those survived 100 plus years in that condition. Thanks for sharing.

Got this little Holley knife in an eBay lot, tiny little thing lol. I dont see that it is marked Salisbury but there's some grime on the tang I'll have to wipe off with oil. Looks like horn scales.

Well, you got a little beauty there, Pile Driver. Stamp, blades, pattern and covers.
You hit all the bases. Congratulations!
Thanks for entering it in this thread. It's really a nice knife.

Nice score PD

... That pattern knife from Holley is definitely popular - believe it’s called a Norfolk pen knife.. I’ve seen the pattern without Salisbury as well but perhaps can still be early ... My impression has always been that in general that pattern was made earlier than later in Holley production but I can no doubt be wrong...

Lovely knife, Pile Driver!

Did you know it was in the lot, or was it an very pleasant unexpected bonus?

Yes it was the motivation for being in on the lot. It consisted of this knife, a small pre 1951 tipped KA-BAR stockman which I can reprofile and make for a decent coin pocket carry and a GM key knife probably Imperial or Colonial made with faux pearl. All to my door for about 50 bucks not the best deal I've ever had but not terrible and its my first and only Holley.

Here is a Salisbury Holley I found on Ebay a couple of years ago. It is a tiny one. The blade is just over an inch.

A nice contribution with the Salisbury stamp.
Holley was in Salisbury form 1844-1846.
In Lakeville from 1846-1930's per Goins.
Salisbury Ct. and Lakeville Ct. are 1 1/2 miles apart.
Nice old knife.
Thanks for the post dhillbilly.

Thanks.
Once I realized how unusual the tang stamp was, I figured I should post a pic.

My kryptonite is large ebony jacks, they will be the death of my bank account. This 3 3/4" Holley popped up this morning, looks to be in high condition, full blades and that clip has an awesome swedge. Probably overpaid but this will be the first Holley in my collection and it looks to be a pretty nice one.
Will post pictures when it arrives.

Thanks Joe, love that shield also, it seems to be unique to Holley although I may have seen it on some Russell jacks. I wonder what you would call that shield, not a propeller and I have been a swell bar shield that is close but the center is not round on a swell bar.
