Thanks for the fantastic display of Barlows everyone . I find myself with a bad case of Barlow deficiency . This is my one and only example. s-k

You may only have one, but a fine example it is.
I cannot quite make out the name, but I love the flag on the bolster.

I am currently EDCing an I*XL Barlow. Awesome steel!

I agree with Dale that SK's barlow is a fine looking specimen. SK that baby has that cut you without even knowing it look..The steel calls to me on that particular knife, thanks for sharing..

But.......Tank's Russell barlow is "SWEET"

Here is one I just picked up in the mail, a Bulldog Tobacco Barlow..

Stag the way it should be, burstman! I like it when a knife from the last few decades shows such good fitting!

Fantastic Barlows guys, I have a special place for those but hav'nt pulled the trigger on one yet.

WOW! There are some great Barlows here.
Here's my small collection of barlows.
Boker, Case, Colonial and a couple of Queens.

Hi Joe good to hear from you..It looks like you got me beat in the barlow department, great knives I especially am fond of the Boker and the Jigged handled knife to the lower left...

Sunburst, my barlows are no match for your collection.
But if you really really like the Boker and Queen in the lower left, I may be interested in a trade for a Schatt, GEC or Scagel. (Just kidding of course.)

I believe that the Barlow pattern is my all time favorite. Here are a couple by Bulldog, their first generation models have excellent quality. I do have a Barlow designed once I get up and about I'll have to make a pattern. No doubt a couple changes will be made.

Nice set of Barlows, Hukk. I like the stags, but I like the sheepfoot blade!
Fancy bolsters really do it for Barlows; I think that's one of the main reasons I collect them!

Thank You! Yes the fancy bolster is what I like also. I also like the sheepfoot blade, the clip blade just seems out of place on a barlow, like -- wrong! The bolster is also why I chose the Barlow to build my first slip joint from scratch. I hope to get to that by the Winter. I see the Dr today about my shoulder surgery, will likely be in a sling 4 more weeks Times a wastin!

Hope your shoulder heals well. You must show us your first custom Barlow! Are you planning a special bolster for it??

I agree that a spear blade is the quintessential barlow blade, but some clip blades look good on a barlow. Here's one I've shown before that has an old-timey blade shape that I'm pretty partial to;

I like that clip blade on a Barlow, but that is one of very few. I am still toying with the bolster. I ruled out a piece of mokume for the first and may just use a piece of 416 ss with HUKK stamped in the center or a couple pieces of left over mosaic Damascus, etced and blued. I have not worked out all the materials yet. I have a lot of time, I have several fixed blades to do first, some with sheaths.

Oh I have picked up one more last month, a Scagel #4.
