Great knives all!
Peanut! I love the bone on that fine old knife!
Very fine jack Harold, and great box Dimitri
Lyle, could that be a Bartlett (of Hibbard Spencer Bartlett fame?). I seem to remember something about a Bartlett hardware store, separate from OVB.

H.M. Meir'sChip-AWay 1854-1875 Herman H. Meier dealt in hardware and cutlery and was located in St Louis, Missouri. The Chip-a-way brand was taken over by the E.C. Simmons Hardware also of St. Louis about1890.

This stamp is listed in Goins as is.The only information given is c 1900-1920.I don't know if Bartlett was around Detroit??You would think Goins would have known that. Thanks for looking.

Here's one I've never seen before. A T. Hauge with a Wcrown (1830-37) on a true split back 2 blade hawkbill (saw and hawk blade) dressed in nice stag. Old Sheffield piece, and it has intrigal bolsters

Here is a old stockman stamped B.M. & S./ HDWE CO. I have never seen this stamp before on a knife or in
knife books. It has to be Blish Mise & Silliman of Atchison Ks. The knife looks to me like a Winchester made
knife. I think the stamping is rare. Also has pattern # on back of master 3957.

That stag has some great colors. They don't make them like that today!

That is the way it use to be done in the old days, English made knives are well know for this feature.

Knife is pretty well used but I can't find this brand. Master blade has Egg in an oval and the small blade has ST&R GERMANY. Still has half stops.
