KJ, thank you for the information on the Hoof blade being blunted. I too would like to find a nice example of one of those ::tu::

Here are a few more German knives from the same 1904 catalog.

To add little diversity, here are some from the Scandinavian-Western Importing Co. of Minneapolis. It features Swedish made knives and looks to date to the 1920's.

Thanks for posting and sharing those catalog cuts Beechtree ::tu:: ::tu:: ... They are indeed so nice to see, and especially for me from your latest contribution all those Wostenholm knives in the Lyon Brothers catalog :D ... just wonderful to see a knife that one is interested in or owns in those original cuts is so valuable to us as collectors as you know... Much appreciated....

Thank you for the very thoughtful comments LB, it is wonderful to see a knife you own in its original advertised form. I am always amazed at the diversity of patterns and examples that I simply haven't seen or quite frankly won't likely be seeing

Boy you are right on cue Buddy. The 3rd pages of the Scandinavian importer cuts show a pattern of discussion recently, which was interesting.

Thanks for the Wostenholm cut and remembering my name Mr. B. grin'n

Seems like we see many more Wostenholm cuts in US hardware catalogs as opposed to the other major Sheffield player Joseph Rodgers. I believe someone had sole importing rights of Rodgers, can't remember where I read that, someone correct me if I'm wrong. That middleman probably hindered widespread sales.

I am so pleased you all like these. I too find the catalog images wonderful for reference, and drooling over ::drool::

So here are a few more to contribute. These are a few Imperial/Schrade, and Camillius knives from the mid sixties, somewhere around 66-67. You can see that plastic handles had replaced wood with only a few jigged bone ("bone stag") on fancier knives.

Here is an interesting few pages. These are Winchester knives, yet their tang stamps are Walden Knife Co. NY. Thus, this catalog, although it has no dates listed, would be from about 1922-23. Goins' states that Simmons bought out Walden Knife in 1911 and ran it until 1922 when they merged with Winchester Arm Company, to form Winchester-Simmons Company. W-S closed the plant in September of 23'.
PS-I just noticed this thread was made a sticky, now it just makes it easier for me to find it and post more!

Here are some Ulsters from the same 22-23' time period. They are slightly more expensive, with more pearl, and offering a wider array of fancier patterns. These include the pearl bartender pattern at a whopping $75 a dozen. In comparison you could get about 115 Winchester 2 blade regular jacks or two blade barlows for that same price.
