Yes, it is a reverse etch. Check out page 1 for some nice old Boker`s the greedygulo has posted ::nod::

Most all the reverse etches I have seen were on German made knives :wink:

Over a great looking knife. Camillus made some outstanding knives.
Only a very few are ad good as that one.

I''ve been sitting here playing with my tablet, watching some football, listening to it rain, and taking a few pictures of some old knives to see how they turn out.First is a New York Knife jack knife.

Another.Maher &Grosh, big ass 2 blade, flat bottom, folding hunter.Full 5 1/2 " closed, unsharpened.Etched Maher & Grosh, razor steel.
