All About Pocket Knives

Here's an oldie for ya,I had one in the 60's got it at a flea market 5bucks ::ds::Colonial

Here's a pic of 3 Western items;an F28 small knife;an F48B medium size knife and a Western ax.The two knives I bought together(sadly with no sheaths)and the ax was a separate purchase.Was thinking of having a custom sheath made to hold all three.

You might not think so but there is a lot to be said for minor memory loss. One of those things is thinking you have a treasure when you run across some you have not seen for awhile. It's sort of comparable to a gift. The only one I recollect is the Maverick, got it from Orvet a couple of years back. The Top two are 1916 Patent The last is a 70's Maverick, Next up may be a Military Pilots type(the ones described are of the first two photos) The last photo is of the nicer 1916 in original Sheath.

Here is my Uncle's 523-6 I inherited. It has processed many deer and boar.

A Western R2 In Plastic Sheath with additional Camillus Skinning type of blade Bare handled.
Never saw one myself, does anyone recognize the name of kit. It would seem to be between 1991 and 2007. It is so small it might be for Mink, Ermine or rabbit to save skin.

Nice Catt's! Here are a few of mine. There is one Catt woodcraft pattern in there. The right 2/3 of the case are all Schrades.

You have some really nice Remington`s in there as well

This is one of my WHACKER's Black Jack Fixed Tartan Dirk Dual Edge Japan 1980s 13 ¾”
The back side of the blade is concave ground. Sharp as heak.

Well its time to show one more Black Jack. She is a Black Jack Fixed YELLOW Iveory Micarta 9 ½” 5" Blade YELLOW knife.

I just found this thread and I have thoroughly enjoyed going thru and checking out the fixed blade knives.
I am posting a photo of an old KA-BAR I found in my deceased Uncle's shop. I grabbed it up with permission of my Aunt. I checked out the ricasso but there was no stamp. I could tell it was a quality knife but with no stamp I couldn't be sure. It laid in my garage for about 17 years and it finally dawned on me to look for a mark on the guard. Sure enough, it was marked KA-BAR and I found it in BRL's 4th edition. Turned out to be a military issue from WWII, kind of a mini-Mark2. Blade is 6 inches. I have never seen another one of them.

Here is another old KA-BAR. It is what I call a kids knife, not sure that is the official name or not.
Also, a couple of old Marbles.

Just figured out today that this Marble's Sport that I bought in 2003 was made by Camillus for Marbles in Gladstone MI. Had previously thought it was a 2002 Gladstone made knife (Mike Stewart era) due to the arrangement of the spacers.

The whole Marbles situation since about 2001 is very confusing to me. If anyone has any comments as to their production in recent years and the Chinese connection, etc., that would be nice. I know that at least one or more former employees at Gladstone now make a few knives in Casper, Wyoming. I have seen them at gun shows.

I love this old knife. Although I have no Idea of the maker. Pretty sure it's high carbon steel and bone. Not even sure if it is hunting/fishing or just carving cutlery. Also pretty sure it's american made. Either way I am currently having a sheath made. Any ideas?
